Early voting for Question 490, the $100M bond proposed by Coconino Community College, begins this week as ballots are being mailed out on Oct. 7 CCC has presented the details of its proposed bond to groups across Coconino County. Its most recent presentation was before the Coconino County Board of Supervisors during its Sept. 30 meeting. Question 490 will, if approved, fund construction projects at multiple CCC locations. The project calls for an expansion of “The Corral” garage from two levels to four. The City of Scottsdale is the owner. The Arizona Cardinals are planning a more than $200M training facility and headquarters at the intersection of Loop 101 and Scottsdale Road in north Phoenix. The Cardinals partnered with Mortenson to acquire 217 acres of land for $136M in the Arizona State Trust land auction that occurred earlier this year. The land was once considered for the Arizona Coyotes hockey team prior to the team leaving the state. Mortenson will serve as the general contractor. Taxpayers Against Awful Apartment Zoning Exemptions, also known as TAAAZE, filed a legal complaint with the Maricopa County Superior Court against the State of Arizona, as well as the City Manager and Planning Director of Scottsdale. The 20-page lawsuit alleges the state gave Axon special treatment and encroached on voters’ rights. This stems from a law that nullified a ballot petition drive against the planned Axon Corporate Campus.
