    Awards & Accolades

    1. Scottsdale Leadership celebrated the graduation of Class 40. The yearlong effort targeted professional development, civic engagement and leadership training through a variety of community-based projects. The list of 46 graduates included three that may be of particular interest to AZBEX readers:

    • Samantha DeMoss – Rose Law Group,
    • James Meyer – Illumination Systems and
    • Greg Muir – Arizona School of Real Estate and Business.

    Company News

    2. CCBG Architects has launched a redesigned website as the firm celebrates 70 years of continuous practice since 1956. The updated platform highlights the firm’s portfolio, expanded capabilities and studio professional bios while reinforcing its focus on innovative architecture and design.

    3. W.W. Clyde & Co., a subsidiary of Clyde Companies, Inc., has acquired CKC Construction & Materials. CKC Construction provides asphalt paving, earthwork and grading, concrete, drainage and materials supply services throughout southeast Arizona. David Cluff will continue leading the transition of CKC Construction under the W.W. Clyde brand. Significant projects completed by CKC include the Freeport-McMoRan Safford and Morenci mines, the Thatcher 8th Street Project and the Safford Mine Reclamation Plan. The company also regularly works with the Arizona Department of Transportation providing cold mix products and delivery services.

    Promotions

    4. Ted Schmidt was promoted to Managing Director of Shive-Hattery’s Phoenix office. Schmidt, who has a civil engineering background, has been with the firm for 15 years. In his new role, he will oversee culture, client experience, project delivery and profitability while supporting mentoring, development and employee engagement in the Phoenix office.

    New Hires

    5. Gene Laramee has joined Transwestern as Regional Asset Services Leader in Phoenix. Laramee brings more than 25 years of experience and will oversee property management operations across the firm’s office, industrial and healthcare portfolio in the region. Most recently, Laramee served as President of Arizona Commercial Management, where he led growth across industrial, office and retail portfolios while overseeing property management, accounting and engineering teams.

    6. Loren W. Morris has joined EEI Building Performance as Principal, Market Development. Morris will focus on expanding EEI’s presence with owners, developers and design and construction partners while helping position opportunities across key geographies and vertical markets. Prior to joining EEI, Morris served as President of TMCx Solutions.

    Retirements

    7. Amber Williamson will be retiring from her role as the Phoenix Deputy City Manager in the coming months. The announcement was made during the May 20 Transportation, Infrastructure and Planning meeting. Williamson’s role focuses on transit, the light rail and budget/research.
