The $1.87M October sale of a 4.73-acre parcel at 860 E. Irvington Road in Tucson will pave the way for a new 120-unit affordable apartment development. Lariat Village Propco LP, an affiliate of Lariat Village GP LLC, bought the property at the SWC of Park Avenue and Irvington Road from Park & Irvington Holding Co, LLC. Beale Infrastructure, owner of the planned Project Blue data center development, has pledged to match its data center’s energy use with renewable energy. The company made the promise in a letter attached to a memo to Pima County administrators. Beale said it is seeking an energy supply agreement with Tucson Electric Power and plans, at the developer’s expense, to accelerate the development of renewable energy for the TEP grid that will equal a 100% match to the data center’s power consumption. Bonds for school districts work like mortgages – the district takes on debt backed by property tax revenue paid by the voters. BEX started tracking K12 bond measures in 2012 and has noticed a significant decline in bond approval rates since 2020. From 2012 to 2020, voters typically approved 80% of K12 bonds. Data center developer Beale Infrastructure is planning a 600-acre data center campus in Marana. The company plans to acquire two sites of approximately 300 acres each for the project. One property is owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The other is owned by the Kai Family Trust. The adjacent sites are across from the Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, with Pinal Airpark Road as the northern boundary.
