    Giving Back

    1. Bergelectric’s Phoenix Region hosted a charitable event at Topgolf Scottsdale, raising more than $20K for the Sojourner Center, which provides safety, shelter and support to individuals and families affected by domestic violence.

    2. Brycon employees recently volunteered with Feed My Starving Children, a non-profit that provides food and supplies to children in need around the world.

    Awards & Accolades

    3. Tech Parks Arizona has been awarded the 2025 Golden Prospector Award of Merit from the Arizona Association for Economic Development for 30 years of innovation, growth and success. The award was presented at the AAED Fall Forum in Prescott. The Golden Prospector Awards honor organizations and initiatives that demonstrate excellence, innovation, and impact in advancing economic development throughout the state.

    4. Rebuild Superior, Inc. received a Golden Prospector Award of Merit at the Arizona Association for Economic Development 2025 Fall Forum. The award acknowledges the Succeed in Superior, AZ website, launched earlier this year to serve as the primary marketing tool developed in support of the Town of Superior’s economic development goal of business recruitment and/or expansion.

    5. RealTrends announced its 2025 RealTrends Verified City Rankings, which recognize the top 50 real estate agents in Arizona. The top five real estate agents are:

    • Katrina Barrett, Walt Danley Local Luxury Christie’s International Real Estate — $362.9M;
    • Christopher Karas, Compass— $254M;
    • Joshua Peters, Realty ONE Group — $243.6M;
    • Scott Grigg, Grigg’s Group powered by The Altman Brothers— $226M, and
    • Julie Tate, HomeSmart— $173.5M.

    Company News

    6. Webcor LP has acquired GCON in a new strategic relationship expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, pending approvals. GCON will continue operating under its current name and leadership.

    7. Homework Remodels has launched a new sister company, ProConstructor, to serve the commercial market. ProConstructor will focus on tenant improvements, office renovations and hospitality projects in the Phoenix area. The new company will apply Homework Remodels’ design-build process to commercial work.

    Promotions

    8. Torry Bernsten has been promoted to co-CEO at JDM Partners. Bernsten originally joined the company in Oct. 2024 and has more than 45 years of financial and banking experience. He will serve as co-CEO with Mel Shultz.

    9. Courtney Hoyt has been promoted to Business Development Representative at Sundt Construction. She joined the company in 2018 and previously served as Assistant Project Manager. Hoyt has worked on multiple Tucson projects, including the University of Arizona Student Success District, the University of Arizona Chemistry Building Renovations and Additions and La Posada at Pusch Ridge.

    New Hires

    10. Portis Industrial hired Barry Stokes as Managing Principal. He oversees the company’s development pipeline, leasing and operations platform. Stokes has more than 12 years of leasing and asset management experience.

    11. CBRE announced Mark Gustin, Jimmy Cornish and Emily Minnier have joined the firm’s Phoenix office and are specializing in office properties. Gustin joins CBRE as an Executive VP, Cornish as a First VP and Minnier as an Associate. The team has completed more than 2,500 lease and sale transactions, representing more than $2.5B in transactional value.

    12. Janis Gallego has joined Tofel Dent Construction as VP, General Counsel. She will oversee contracts, compliance and risk management. Gallego brings nearly two decades of legal and compliance experience and previously served as VP, Associate Counsel at Chicanos Por La Causa Inc.

    13. DJ Peterson was hired by Stevens-Leinweber Construction as Business Development Lead. He previously worked as a professional baseball agent and player before transitioning into the construction industry. He is also a member of NAIOP, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council and ULI.

    14. Stephen Hargus has joined Ethos Engineering, LLC as a Sr. Geotechnical Engineer. Hargus has more than 15 years of geotechnical engineering experience on roadway and bridge projects.

    15. CBRE announced Jason Shaltiel has joined its Tucson office as a Senior Associate, specializing in leasing and sales and representing owners and occupiers of office and medical office properties. Shaltiel joins CBRE from Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR, where he advised and represented owners, occupiers, and investors in office leasing and sales.
