A new TownePlace Suites Hotel by Marriott may be coming to the Maricopa Power Center on Stonegate Road.
The proposed location is immediately east of a planned Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant.
Preliminary plans have been submitted for a four-story hotel with 111 rooms. Approximately 60% of the rooms will be studio units with a small kitchen. The site would provide 106 parking spaces and eight electric vehicle charging stations. A pool and picnic area are also planned.
A rezoning will be necessary to accommodate the proposed building height of 42 feet. City code limits the height to 40 feet without the required rezoning. In addition to the rezoning, plans must still be approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council.
