
Groundbreakings
1. Site work has begun on Beale Infrastructure’s Project Blue data center campus near Houghton Road and I-10 in Tucson. The work includes clearing and grading for early-stage site development, and the project is expected to be operational in 2028.
2. The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa has begun a multi-phase renovation at its resort property on the border of Scottsdale and Phoenix. The project includes updates to the lobby, meeting and event spaces, pool areas and food and beverage spaces. PCL Construction is the general contractor. Houston/Tyner is the architect, and The Johnson Studio and HBA are the designers.
Progress Reports
3. Hub on Campus Tempe, a 30-story mixed-use tower, is under construction near Myrtle Avenue and 7th Street in downtown Tempe. Core Spaces and Wexford Developments are developing the project and broke ground approximately six months ago. Plans call for 818 units and 5KSF of ground-floor commercial space. Findorff is serving as the general contractor, and RSP Architects is the architect. Completion is expected in summer 2028.
4. Construction is underway on Cabana Kyrene, a 229-unit multifamily project by Greenlight Communities at the SWC of West Guadalupe and South Kyrene roads in Tempe. The development will span nearly eight acres, with six three-story buildings and a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom units. The project broke ground in March 2025 on a site purchased for $7.8M in 2023 and has drawn opposition from nearby residents over traffic and privacy concerns. The project is expected to be completed in September.
Completions

5. Salt River Project has completed the 55MW Copper Crossing Energy and Research Center PV Solar Project in Florence. Construction began in fall 2024. The 270-acre solar facility includes multiple photovoltaic panel types, solar trackers and inverters.
6. Swire Coca-Cola USA has opened a 241KSF distribution facility at 3937 S. Power Road in Mesa. The building is in the Power 202 industrial park, which was developed by Johnson Development Associates Inc.
7. Mark-Taylor Residential, in partnership with Sunbelt Holdings and Rockpoint, announced delivery of The Hillburn, a 283-unit Build-to-Rent community in north Phoenix near the Norterra retail and dining district and the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company campus.
8. HCW and Spike Lawrence Ventures have completed an expansion of the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Chandler. The project added 68 guest rooms, bringing the hotel to 177 total rooms, along with 3.2KSF of meeting and event space and a 2.1KSF outdoor event patio.
9. On April 16, EōS Fitness opened a 29.3KSF gym at 917 E. Broadway Road in Tempe. The facility is the company’s fourth location in Tempe and 43rd in Arizona.
10. Back Nine Golf has opened at 15367 W. McDowell Road, Suite C2, in the Goodyear Centerpointe commercial center at the SEC of Pebble Creek Pkwy. and McDowell Road.
