Groundbreakings
1. HonorHealth held a groundbreaking for HonorHealth Medical Campus at Peoria, a medical campus with a 100KSF facility on the east side of the Loop 101 on 83rd Avenue, between Thunderbird Road and Bell Road. The new campus will centralize several medical services. Completion is expected in 2025.
2. Abrazo Health announced the groundbreaking of the first phase in developing its newest medical campus in Buckeye. Phase I will include a three-story 60KSF medical office building that will include cardiology, orthopedics, spine, primary care and urology physician practices, physical therapy and other offices. Expected completion was not disclosed.
3. Greenlight Communities broke ground on its new North Valley Build-to-Rent in Phoenix. The new 159-unit community at 33455 N. North Valley Parkway is expected to begin leasing in October 2024 and features 59 studios, 66 one-bedroom and 34 two-bedroom units.
4. General partners AJ Osborne, Tarek El Moussa, Barry Goldwater Jr. and Ken Pinckard announced the groundbreaking of Storelocal, a 170KSF storage facility with nearly 1,000 units, in Surprise. The facility includes climate-controlled units, large RV storage and standard drive-up units.
5. Construction began on Earnhardt Chevrolet, a 70KSF dealership in Queen Creek. The new center will include a full-service store, showroom, and modern amenities for shoppers. Expected completion is summer 2024.
Progress Reports
6. Valleywise Health announced construction is 95% completed at its new 673KSF, 10-story hospital in Phoenix. Exteriors and infrastructure are finished, including electrical, plumbing and medical gases. At this point, the heavy focus and efforts are on testing systems, final inspections, touch-ups and clean-up. Kitchell is the general contractor and Cuningham Group is the architect. Opening is planned for April 11.
7. Virgin Galactic continues construction on the Delta-class assembly factory in Mesa. With the core and shell completed they began work on interior fit-out with an expected completion in Q2 2024. Once finished it will consist of two buildings, one nearly 36KSF and the other 115KSF.
8. Scottsdale Resort & Spa, formerly known as Scottsdale McCormick Ranch Resort, is 50% finished with its $40M renovation in Scottsdale. Renovations are expected to finish in January.
Completions
9. Phoenix Children’s Specialty Care – Arrowhead Campus has opened after a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Glendale. The new 45KSF campus offers more than two dozen specialties including psychology, neuropsychology, ENT, plastic surgery and neurodiagnostic sleep and electroencephalogram labs. Construction continues on the rest of the campus, and the full hospital is slated to open in July 2024. $195M was invested in its construction.
10. Ti Cold, the builder and designer, has completed construction on the Phoenix Cold Storage Facility, a nearly 300KSF cold storage property in El Mirage. Arcadia Cold Storage and Logistics occupies the property, which offers five convertible rooms to handle frozen or chilled temperatures between negative 10-40 degrees Fahrenheit.
11. Arizona Self Storage, an 875-unit storage facility, opened in Peoria. Mangat Group and Aberdeen Management & Development developed the project.
