    Giving Back

    1. St. Joseph the Worker will present the inaugural “Be the Impact” Fundraiser on Nov. 2. Clayco Executive VP, Residential Business Unit Leader Eric Jaegers will serve as event chair. Tickets for the event are priced at $50.

    2. REIAC Southwest collaborated with Junior Achievement of Arizona to teach high school students about the built environment. Thirty-two high school seniors at Basis Chandler were selected for the program.

    Awards & Accolades

    3. Taylor Morrison Chairman and CEO Sheryl Palmer was included in HousingWire‘s 2023 list of Vanguards award winners. Notably, Palmer was the only homebuilding executive included among the 2023 honorees.

    4. Garney Arizona received the NUCA STAR Safety Award.

    5. IFMA Greater Phoenix Chapter received two awards at the World Workplace Conference & Expo. The first award won was the Chapter Web Communication Award and the second was the Student Chapter of the Year Award.

    Boards & Commissions

    6. The International Economic Development Council announced the City of Mesa’s Office of Economic Development as one of its 75 Accredited Economic Development Organizations.

    7. Mike Ciosek of Kidder Mathews’ was elected as President of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors Arizona Chapter’s board of directors.

    Company News

    8. Nox Group added RMCI Industrial to its enterprise. RMCI has been a construction partner for more than 30 years and worked together with Nox Group since 2015.

    9. NAI Horizon has developed a new agent trainee program to help graduates from Arizona State University and the University of Arizona learn and be mentored in commercial real estate. The first inaugural group of agent trainees at NAI Horizon includes: Andrew Agresta, Brandon Hall, Whitney Heritage and Matt Westra.

    Promotions

    10. The City of Glendale has promoted Jessi Pederson to serve as its new Economic Development Director. She served most recently as Assistant Director and has replaced Brian Friedman, who retired in August.

    11. The City of Phoenix has promoted Felipe Moreno to Public Works Director. He currently serves as Assistant Public Works Director responsible for the Solid Waste Utility.

    12. Kim Brown has been promoted to Chief People Officer at Nox Group, where she will be responsible for all human resources, workforce development and talent acquisition operations.

    13. Keith Lemaster was promoted to Director Pipe Western US and Shane O’Brien was promoted to Regional Operations Manager at Garney Arizona.

    14. JLL promoted Alexis Lowell as head of its Project and Development Services group.

    New Hires

    15. Jeff Barton, Phoenix City Manager, announced the hiring of Joseph T. Brown as the City of Phoenix’s next Street Transportation Director.

    16. Joe Micelli has joined Integrity Building Corp. as the firm’s new Director of Operations.

    17. Garney Arizona has hired Ed Mears as Business Development Manager.

    18. DLR Group recently made two new hires. Jim Lamb has been hired as K-12 Education Planner, and Kate McGoldrick has been brought on as an Associate.

    19. Rose Law Group has hired Ty Utton as a Planner and Project Manager. His efforts will focus on development issues, including rezoning, condition modifications, use permits, variances and appeals.

    20. Michael Clark has joined Edge Realty Partners as Senior VP.

    Departures

    21. Stefanie Smallhouse, president of the Arizona Farm Bureau, and Sen. Sine Kerr, R-Buckeye, have both resigned from the Governor’s Water Policy Council, citing differences with the 38-member Council’s policy goals and overall agenda.
