Groundbreakings
1. Google announced this week it has started construction on Phase I of its Mesa Data Center. Phase I consists of 288.5KSF in the Elliot Technology Corridor. At full build-out, Google’s investment will total approximately 966KSF and $1B.
2. Crews will begin work installing pipe on the first two miles of Mesa’s Central Mesa Reuse Water Line on July 24. Work is expected to continue into February.
3. Work to install flood control measures in Yuma’s Smucker Park and an adjacent property began earlier this month. The one-year project will install new storm drainage and sanitary sewage, among other measure.
Progress Reports
4. Vantage Data Centers recently celebrated the topping out for Phase II of its data center facility in Goodyear.
5. Multi-Housing News reports The Empire Group has secured $88.5M in construction financing for Village at Bronco Trail, a 354-unit Build-to-Rent development in Phoenix. Financing was arranged by Tower Capital.
6. Work has begun on a mural art project by Tucson-area artist Vic Von S. at The Solstice, a 392-unit apartment community from M3 Multifamily under construction in Marana.
7. EVR Porter (formerly REV@Porter) has completed construction on the first of its 194 units in Maricopa. The HercuWalls-constructed Build-to-Rent development will open its first home and have leasing in place by September.
8. The Empire Group has started leasing at its 187-unit Build-to-Rent development Village at the BLVD in Avondale. Construction is expected to finish in October.
Completions
9. AquaRidge WaterPark, the $18M waterpark offering recreation renovation project at the JW Marriot Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa has finished construction and opened for guests. Attractions include a three-story water slide, a waterfall, two pools and a lazy river.
