    Groundbreakings

    1. LogistiCenter at Copperwing has commenced construction. The 10MSF industrial property is being developed in El Mirage by a team led by Dermody Properties along with partner Novo Development. Phase I includes two buildings totaling more than 550KSF of Class A logistics space.

    2. Legacy at Laveen Village has broken ground. The 172-unit Build-for-Rent project is being developed by Scottsdale Investment Management. The project is located at 35th Ave., just south of Southern Ave. and will be brought to the market in five phases. The first is scheduled to be completed in September 2024.

    3. The Arizona Biltmore Golf Club has begun an extensive renovation project on the Adobe Golf Course. The six-month project will improve the irrigation, add new drought-tolerant bermudagrass, renovate the green complexes, rebuild the bunker and more.

    4. Prescott Unified School District has begun construction on the $1.5M Taylor Hicks Teacher Village: a project comprised of six, two-bedroom manufactured homes to benefit four teachers and two city first-responders. The project is being developed to provide lower cost housing to teachers that work in the district. It is located adjacent to Taylor Hicks Elementary School. Funding comes from state and federal grants.

    Progress Reports

    5. Four experiential retail projects are moving forward in the Valley, including: the $1B VAI Resort, the $100M Sydney and the $240M Cannon Beach. VAI Resort is scheduled to open in 2024, while Cannon Beach is targeting the end of 2023 or early 2024 for an opening.

    6. Twenty large girders were hoisted into place last week, marking a major milestone in the construction of the Porter Road Bridge in the City of Maricopa. The bridge is part of the Sonoran Desert Parkway project.

    7. The expansion of the neonatal unit at the Abrazo Arrowhead Campus in Glendale has reached another milestone with steel framing and decking complete. The $14M project to add 8,500SF and 14 new beds is expected to be completed later this year.

    Completions

    8. The $45M modernization of the Desert Medical Campus in Mesa has completed construction. The project included new building facades, glassed-in atrium lobbies, a restroom, solar, and improved wayfinding and

signage. The project owner is Ventas. Krause Architecture + Interiors led the design team while Okland Construction acted as the General Contractor.

    9. A.R. Mays Construction has completed construction of the new FatCats in Surprise. The 63KSF, $16M project was built for FatCats Entertainment and was designed by TK Architects International. The project took just over one year to complete.

    10. A.R. Mays Construction has completed construction of the Falcon Storage Condos in Chandler for Developer FSC Chandler, LLC. The $13.2M project covered 150KSF and required 18-months to build. NEUdesign Architecture was the project architect.
