Groundbreakings
1. Construction on the 114-mile Ten West Link power transmission line and supporting structures running from Riverside, Calif. to Tonopah are set to begin this week with an official groundbreaking. Vice President Kamala Harris, U.S. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm are scheduled to attend.
2. Logistics Property Company broke ground last week on Palm Gateway Logistics Center, a four-building, 600KSF industrial project near Pecos and Sossaman roads in Mesa.
Progress Reports
3. HCW Development LLC recently celebrated the topping out at the Caesars Republic Scottsdale hotel. Construction is ongoing, and the hotel is expected to open in Feb. 2024.
4. Leasing is nearly complete at the 48-unit Phase II of Copa Flats (also known as Copa House) on Porter Road in Maricopa. Move-ins are expected to begin in March. Leasing has also begun in the 72-unit Phase II. Phases III, IV and V will begin leasing in stages through December.
5. The Arizona Department of Transportation announced on Jan. 12 it would spend the following two weekends sliding sections into place for the $22.1M SR 79 bridge in Florence. Once the new structure is in place, work will continue on and near the bridge to finish the project.
Completions
6. HCW Development LLC has completed the 296-unit Glen 91 Apartments development on Glendale Avenue in Glendale.
7. A three-level, 75.25KSF specialty clinic was recently completed at Phoenix Children’s – Avondale Campus. The clinic was built by Kitchell and designed by HKS.
8. PepsiCo Beverages North America has opened its 237.3KSF warehouse in the Gateway 303 development, part of the PV303 industrial center in Goodyear.
9. Moon Valley Nurseries will hold a grand opening on Jan. 24 to celebrate its new corporate headquarters on North Pima Road in Scottsdale.
10. The Sun City Oro Valley Activity Center recently celebrated its grand opening. The 18.3KSF activity center was designed by Highton Company and built by W.E. O’Neil Construction.
