Phoenix to Extend 43rd Ave. in Support of TSMC

Phoenix City Council has approved a $10.5M plan to extend 43rd Avenue from Dove Valley Road to Carefree Highway, partially in support of the $40B Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company development in north Phoenix.

A statement from the Phoenix Street Transportation Department said: β€œThe City of Phoenix will be the lead for construction of the 43rd Avenue extension, to ensure that it is built to city requirements. There is no timetable yet for when the design or construction would begin, as the eventual alinement will be driven by future development needs in that area.”

TSMC, meanwhile, is importing temporary workers to Phoenix to aid in the construction of its facility, as the project is reportedly behind schedule due to a shortage of specialized construction workers in the Phoenix area. (Source)
