Mark-Taylor Developmentย recently submitted plans to the City of Scottsdale for a new multifamily residential community at the NWC of 78thย Street and Princess Boulevard.ย
The project, calledย San Bellara Apartments, will sit on a +/-12.1-acre site and consist of approximately 180 dwelling unitsย comprised of a mix of 60 one-, 94 two-, and 26 three-bedroom residences.ย
โThe Santa Barbara-esqueย architectural style, is complementary to the character of the Scottsdale Airpark and range of architectural styles established in the area,โ according to the submitted project documents. The site plan shows approximately 16 buildings housing residential units, as well as a large amenity building and front entrance port cochereย and guardhouse.ย All buildings will have a maximum height of 36 feet.ย
โClusters of smaller residential buildings interspersed with common open space, pathways and community amenities create a more interesting and livable community vs. the higherย density building masses of larger-scale multi-family developments.โย
The buildingsโ design will incorporate Sonoran Desert themed textures and finishes and provide solar shading and overhangs to create gathering places for residents.ย
Amenities will be centrally located within the community in a single building. The site plan shows outside amenities to include a pool and spa area with a cabana/lounge area, several common open spaces, and a walkable environment with internal pathways throughout the community.ย
Surface parking will be provided throughout the gated community and will consist of 108 garage spaces, 160 carport spaces, and 100 uncovered spaces. Accessible and bicycle parking will also be provided. The entry and exit gate to the site will be from 78thย Street.ย
This development will sit on Lot Four of the four-lot property Mark-Taylor purchased from theย Arizona State Land Departmentย at auction. Mark-Taylor is currently developing the first three lots into a larger multifamily community calledย San Artes.ย
Currently, no Development Review Board meeting has been scheduled with the City of Scottsdale. The project also needs to go before the cityโs Planning Commission and City Council for approval.ย
