Groundbreakings
1. Clark Pacific broke ground on a new 110-acre manufacturing plant in Coolidge. The facility will be constructed in phases, with the final phase expected to be completed by spring 2027. Clark Pacific is operating from a temporary manufacturing facility while construction progresses.
2. A longstanding waterfront property in Scottsdale is set for an approximately 100KSF mixed-use redevelopment called The Lakefront at Scottsdale. The project will break ground on Sept. 24. Diversified Partners plans to transform the property, originally developed in 1978, at 7501 E. McCormick Pkwy. with restaurants and outdoor dining, boutique and experiential retail, Class A office space and public gathering areas. Commonwealth Land Title Phoenix NCS and A.R. Mays Construction are sponsors of the groundbreaking celebration.
3. Demolition is set to begin Sept. 9 on the former Fender Musical Instruments Corporation headquarters at 17600 N. Perimeter Center Dr. in Scottsdale to make way for Finish Line Auto Club. The $90M, 140KSF development will include six buildings and will be constructed in two phases, with 100KSF planned for the first phase. T.R. Funding Limited Liability Company is developing the project, with LGE Design Build serving as general contractor and architect. Groundbreaking is expected in early November, followed by approximately 18 months of construction.
4. The City of Prescott and contractor Cactus Asphalt are scheduled to begin pavement maintenance the week of Sept. 7 as part of the FY27 Pavement Preservation Project. Work will take place along Madison Avenue at Miller Valley Road and on North Walnut Street between Whipple Street and Miller Valley Road. The project is expected to be completed in October.
Progress Reports
5. Construction on the 10-acre Heritage Park development at Gilbert Road and Juniper Avenue in downtown Gilbert has progressed to full enclosure of the initial-phase buildings. LGE Design Build is leading construction, with site paving and interior tenant improvements expected to begin soon. The initial phase includes approximately 47KSF of retail and restaurant space, 288 residences, more than 300 surface parking spaces and a public square. Openings are planned for early Q2 2027, while tenants continue to be signed. Future phases will add a 125-room hotel, office space and additional parking.
6. The National Park Service’s more than $200M Transcanyon Waterline repair and upgrade project at Grand Canyon National Park remains on track for completion within weeks, after an Aug. 29 flash flood left most of the nearly completed project undamaged. Construction of a temporary water intake matching the park’s pre-flood pumping capacity is scheduled to begin this week. The project is upgrading the 12.5-mile waterline serving the South Rim and Grand Canyon Village.
Completions
7. The Arizona Department of Transportation’s $106M I-40/US 93 interchange project in Kingman is 80% complete. ADOT recently opened a 239-foot tunnel carrying northbound Beale Street traffic and is paving one mile of new ramps connecting I-40 and US 93. The project will include six miles of widened or newly constructed roadway, five new bridges, two bridge widenings, four bridge rehabilitations and two miles of sound walls. Construction began in July 2024 and is expected to continue into 2027.
8. The Arizona Department of Transportation completed the $2.4M rehabilitation of the Little Colorado Bridge along State Route 77 south of Holbrook. Work included repairs to the bridge deck and joints, roadway pavement replacement north to Joy Nevin Avenue, slope paving rehabilitation and replacement of guardrails and pavement markers. Construction began in April.
