Theย Arizona Department of Transportationย has been granted environmental approval to continue moving forward with plans to improve an 11-mile section ofย Interstate 10ย that includes theย Broadway Curve.ย
ADOT issued a Finding of No Significant Impact after completing a Final Environmental Assessment for theย I-10 Broadway Curve projectย in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. The Final Environmental Assessment includes comments from the community received during and after public meetings in February and October of 2019. The project includes adding lanes between theย I-17ย โSplitโ interchange and theย Loop 202ย Santan/South Mountain Freeway, improving the interchange atย US 60, replacing the interchange atย State Route 143ย and making other improvements.ย
Currently, ADOT expects to begin construction in summer 2021. Work is scheduled to continue until late 2024.ย
