As founder and managing partner of Diversified Future, Shelby exercises her business acumen to strategically look into the future of growth and improvement to enhance the quality of life for cities, municipalities, residential and commercial development. A civil engineer by training, and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited, Shelby uses sustainability, forecasting, collaboration and leadership to enhance her career and mentor others, especially women, to help them succeed in their chosen careers. Deeply committed to making a difference in her community, Shelby is active in many local volunteer groups including past Honorary Commander and current Blue Blazer at Luke Air Force Base, Leadership West, Charter 100, Speak Up, Stand Up, Save a Life, Phoenix Children’s Hospital Board Member, Founder of Passion to PowHer and recently served on the City of Peoria Design Review Board, General Plan Update, Bond Review Committee and on the Peoria Historic Preservation Commission for over 20 years, plus others. She was named Outstanding Business Woman of the Year in 2022 by Phoenix Business Journal, recipient of People & Projects to Know in 2023 by Arizona Big Media, and is an expert local and national speaker for IMN, BisNow and Phoenix Business Journal in addition to others.

    Vicki Mayo is a serial entrepreneur, investor, and civic leader whose career has been defined by building companies, creating opportunities, and challenging conventional ideas about leadership. She is the Chairwoman of Mayo Global, a family-owned portfolio of businesses spanning technology, cybersecurity, healthcare and wellness, global services, and sports and real estate development. She is also the Founder and CEO of TouchPoint Solution, a neuroscience-based wellness technology company whose patented wearable technology is used around the world to help people better understand and manage stress. Vicki is also Chairwoman of Global Market Innovators (GMI), a national technology, cybersecurity, and IT solutions company, and Co-Founder and Chairwoman of Sunny Day Sports, the organization leading the development of the Palo District in Mesa, Arizona. The transformative mixed-use development is envisioned as a major sports, entertainment, hospitality, and innovation destination and is central to efforts to bring additional professional soccer opportunities to Arizona.

    Councilwoman | City of Phoenix

    Phoenix Councilwoman Ann O’Brien is focused on reducing bureaucracy and cutting red tape to spur economic development and increase housing options. Her council district is at the center of regional mobility and commerce and includes a massive campus for the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, the billion-dollar redevelopment of the former Metrocenter Mall, and one of the busiest general aviation airports in the country. Councilwoman O’Brien is committed to working in a nonpartisan manner to keep Phoenix moving forward.

    Marisa Palomo (Moderator)

    Vice President, Arizona | The PENTA Building Group (PENTA)

    A Phoenix resident, Marisa Palomo serves as the Vice President of Arizona for The PENTA Building Group (PENTA), a commercial contractor based in Arizona, Nevada, and California. She has been in the industry for more than 20 years. Having joined PENTA in 2006, Marisa built the company’s Human Resources department from the ground up, developing and implementing programs to retain and advance employees and recruiting diverse talent. Marisa was promoted to Director of Human Resources, then advanced to Executive Director in 2020 and became the first woman on PENTA’s Executive Management Committee, which guides the company’s initiatives and implements the regional business plan for Arizona. In that role, she provided direct oversight and strategic guidance to multiple departments to position the company for continued advancement. In 2022, Marisa attained her current Vice President role. Focusing on growth in the region, Marisa manages strategic planning, compliance, and performance, as well as risk, legal matters, financial plans, and business development, while actively supporting the company’s efforts to continue to recruit top talent. Marisa is a huge proponent of advancing and recruiting women in construction and works with our teams to promote inclusivity at all levels.
