    Mark-Taylor Plans Apartments in Scottsdale

    Mark-Taylor Development recently submitted plans to the City of Scottsdale for a new multifamily residential community at the NWC of 78th Street and Princess Boulevard. 
    The project, called San Bellara Apartments, will sit on a +/-12.1-acre site and consist of approximately 180 dwelling units comprised of a mix of 60 one-, 94 two-, and 26 three-bedroom residences. 
    “The Santa Barbara-esque architectural style, is complementary to the character of the Scottsdale Airpark and range of architectural styles established in the area,” according to the submitted project documents. The site plan shows approximately 16 buildings housing residential units, as well as a large amenity building and front entrance port cochere and guardhouse. All buildings will have a maximum height of 36 feet. 
    “Clusters of smaller residential buildings interspersed with common open space, pathways and community amenities create a more interesting and livable community vs. the higher density building masses of larger-scale multi-family developments.” 
    The buildings’ design will incorporate Sonoran Desert themed textures and finishes and provide solar shading and overhangs to create gathering places for residents. 
    Amenities will be centrally located within the community in a single building. The site plan shows outside amenities to include a pool and spa area with a cabana/lounge area, several common open spaces, and a walkable environment with internal pathways throughout the community. 
    Surface parking will be provided throughout the gated community and will consist of 108 garage spaces, 160 carport spaces, and 100 uncovered spaces. Accessible and bicycle parking will also be provided. The entry and exit gate to the site will be from 78th Street. 
    This development will sit on Lot Four of the four-lot property Mark-Taylor purchased from the Arizona State Land Department at auction. Mark-Taylor is currently developing the first three lots into a larger multifamily community called San Artes. 
    Currently, no Development Review Board meeting has been scheduled with the City of Scottsdale. The project also needs to go before the city’s Planning Commission and City Council for approval.
