Charter school operator American Leadership Academy wants to develop a new charter school east of Casa Grande on 190 acres at the SEC of McCartney and Cox roads east of the Interstate 10 interchange.

A local news outlet reported the organization has submitted landscaping and site plans to Pinal County for review.

According to the ALA website, the Casa Grande location is planned for a fall 2027 opening. The site says, β€œAmerican Leadership Academy has built 21 successful schools in Arizona where families have come to recognize our school as a leader in education. ALA’s β€˜A’ rated curriculum provides students with a well-rounded educational experience through elementary-high school sports, award-winning fine arts programs, and innovative classes and programs such as financial literacy and entrepreneurship for high school students.”

The plans from Carhuff + Cueva Architects call for distinct elementary and high school areas, a physical education building, track and field space, multiple sports fields, an amphitheater, eight pickleball courts and more than 1,500 parking spaces.

The site plan shows a total of 10 buildings planned, consisting of eight instructional buildings with 12 classrooms each, the physical education building and a field house. The physical education building is situated between two clusters of four classroom buildings.

ALA purchased the property for $8M last November.

The article says the Cox Road side of the property is unpaved, and details on possible road improvements are currently unavailable.
