A Request for Qualifications by the City of Chandler is seeking a developer to create a mixed-use project on 16 acres at Tumbleweed Park, at the SWC of Germann and McQueen roads.
Desired uses include a hotel, restaurants, retail and entertainment options that will complement the parkβs existing amenities while providing new economic stimulus and opportunities for residents.
The project is driven by recent transportation infrastructure improvements and ongoing growth in the area.
Chandler officials want an upscale-to-very-upscale hotel for the area. While there are no specific restaurants identified for the location, Chandler wants full-service, sit-down restaurants that do not already have a presence. Chain outlets and drive-thrus are not part of the vision.
Retail options should be businesses that fit in with the park, such as stores with a fitness focus.
The development team will establish the project budget as part of its process.
Statements of Qualification are due by March 11. A short list will be announced March 25. Those firms selected will be able to respond to a Request for Proposals, which will be due June 10. (Source)
