    Giving Back

    1. The PICOR Charitable Foundation raised $124,910 for Tucson- non-profit youth programs. The Foundation’s multi-year lead donor, the Burton Family Foundation, provided a dollar-for-dollar matching grant for all funds raised. This, combined with significant donations from Schnitzer Properties and PICOR Commercial Real Estate set the pace with a myriad of contributions from clients, vendors, employees and community members. A total of 45 non-profits were awarded program grants.

    2. Solterra Materials LLC’s Buckeye Plant has been awarded the 2021 Diamond Achievement Commendation for Excellence in Asphalt Plant/Site Operations by the National Asphalt Pavement Association.

    3. AZRE has published its list of “22 Young Commercial Real Estate Leaders to Watch in 2022.” Among the honorees are Morgan Betancourt, project director at Okland Construction, and Nayan Bhakta, VP of Preconstruction and Renewable Energy & Storage for McCarthy Building Companies.

    4. Maricopa Vice Mayor Vincent Manfredi has been elected to serve another year on the Rural Transportation Advisory Council.

    5. Pat Weaver has been named state advisor for Arizona and western region vice chair for the National Asphalt Pavement Association board of directors. Weaver is president of Solterra Materials LLC.

    6. Henderson Engineers/Henderson Building Solutions has unveiled a new company structure that aligns the company’s nationwide engineering and construction experience across building types into five sectors: Business, Community, Health, Retail and Venue.

    7. SmithGroup recently announced five promotions in its Phoenix office:

    • Jon Silhol, Principal, Mechanical Engineer;
    • Casey Potash, Principal, Interiors Project Manager;
    • Chris Knorr, Principal, Forensic Market Leader;
    • Erica Fisher, Principal, Senior Healthcare Planner, and
    • Adam Denmark, VP, Science & Technology Strategist.

    8. GLHN Architects & Engineers, Inc. has promoted Dan Maher to Director of Architecture in the Tucson office and Russell Combs to Director of Design in its Phoenix office.

    9. Larsen Baker, LLC has announced the addition of Brianne Hansen as its Director of Third Party Property Management.

    10. Doug Barham has rejoined W.E. O’Neil Construction as a Project Superintendent.

    11. Sundt Construction added Courtney Meyers as a Business Development Representative for its Industrial Group. In her new role, Meyers will assist with market research, lead generation, and preparing proposals.

    12. Evergreen Devco, Inc. has hired Ashley McPherson as its Staff Accountant.

    13. Reuben Nach has joined R.O.I. Group as a Commercial Associate.
