    Awards & Accolades

    1. SOLON Corporation has been awarded Microgrid Project of the Year by Solar Builder Magazine. The project converted an existing microgrid in Peach Springs from diesel generators to solar and a battery energy storage system. The installation is expected to provide 50% of the needed energy for Grand Canyon West operations including the Grand Canyon Skywalk.

    Groundbreakings

    2. Diversified Partners’ The Shops at 75th, a 3.71-acre development in Glendale, has broken ground. This groundbreaking is part of Diversified Partners’ $100M investment in commercial real estate featuring four different restaurants and shops, including Dutch Bros. Coffee, Cali Tacos Restaurant and BeBa Nails & Spa.

    3. Curve Development, an entity funded by equity firm JEN Partners, broke ground on Cyrene at Skyline, a 102-unit single-family rental project in Waddell. Pre-leasing is expected to start March 2024.

    Progress Reports

    4. Gila County announced the opening of Tonto Creek Bridge for spring 2024. This multimodal transportation project will meet a milestone with the bridge’s opening, as residents of Tonto Basin will no longer be cut off from food, medical supplies, emergency services, work and school. T

    5. Meta signed on with Salt River Project and Orsted in a solar energy deal to power the Facebook owner’s new data center in Mesa. Eleven Mile Solar Center, a 300MW solar farm and 300MWH battery energy storage system, is under construction in Pinal County and is expected to start running in 2024. The facility will cover more than 2,000 acres. Meta’s data center is projected to finish in 2026 at a cost of more than $1B.

    6. Grace Church announced that its $4.4M 15KSF multi-purpose center in Chino Valley is close to completion. The building will be used for worship, a full-size gym basketball court, concerts for school bands or choirs and a commercial kitchen.

    Completions

    7. Lincoln Property Company has announced the completion of Park303 Phase 2, a Class A industrial development in Glendale. Marketing-leading creative industrial amenities include: a high-end speculative office suite, features for modern manufacturing and distribution, and a premier outdoor area with a pickleball and basketball court, barbeques and entertainment area with shaded outdoor seating. Phase 2 totals nearly 2.5MSF in three state-of-the-art industrial buildings on a 71.5-acre site.

    8. GSQ announced the city’s second parking garage in Goodyear Civic Square, providing 525 parking spaces, is set to open. The developer and landowner, Globe Corp., transformed prefabricated garage panels that First American Title no longer needed that were to go to the landfill, allowing for an earlier start and shaving months off the construction schedule.

    9. Abrazo Arrowhead Campus opened its $14M neonatal intensive care unit in Peoria. The new unit adds 14 more beds and 8.5KSF of state-of-the-art technology to assist in caring for more than 3,500 babies every year.

    10. GE Vernova will open its new 140KSF tool center in Goodyear on Jan. 16. The new facility will satisfy a supply chain of rental services and asset management control, including housing, preparing, inspecting and shipping tooling to repair turbines and generators at customers’ power plants across the globe.

    11. Acero Harvest Station, a 204-unit, garden-style apartment complex, has opened in Queen Creek. The complex offers one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.

    12. BASIS Scottsdale opened its new gymnasium, the Curley Family Fieldhouse, following the school’s 2023-24 fundraising campaign. Following a substantial gift of four cutting-edge basketball hoops from the Drs. Anjaly and Brendan Curley, the gymnasium was dedicated to their family.
