    Groundbreakings

    1. A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the new four-story, 130KSF Sun Life Health Education and Medical Campus in Casa Grande . The $67M development will potentially provide up to 200 new jobs. The 10-acre project is expected to be completed in 2026.

    2. DXD Capital has begun construction on a new ExtraSpace Storage, a Scottsdale self-storage facility. The 706-unit project is near Loop 101 and Shea Blvd. TLW Construction is the general contractor of the 94KSF project.

    3. Sun State Builders announced construction is now underway in Glendale on a ground-up build for WorkBay. It is a complex of five separate buildings totaling 80.1KSF at 7915 N. Harbor Blvd. near Northern and 99th Avenues. The buildings will be divided into separate, smaller spaces that will be offered for lease for industrial, warehouse or business use. Construction is targeted for completion in September 2025.

    4. Sun State Builders announced construction is now underway in Phoenix on a 33.5KSF office suite and airconditioned warehouse project called the Cohen Sky Harbor Building. The building is just west of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and is targeted for completion in July 2025. Cohen Asset Management’s new building will include a spec office suite and air-conditioned warehouse that will be available for lease once complete.

    Completions

    5. On behalf of Mohr Capital, JLL announced the completion of West Summit at Surprise, a 707.4KSF industrial development. The project sits on nearly 47 acres in the Summit Business Park at the NWC of Dysart and Cactus roads. West Summit has two buildings, one is approximately 454KSF and the other is 250.5KSF. Anthony Lydon, John Lydon and Kelly Royle from JLL serve as the exclusive leasing brokers for West Summit at Surprise.

    6. Crescent Communities announced the completion of NOVEL Val Vista, a 317-unit luxury rental property in Gilbert, after breaking ground in 2021. The development team consisted of Craine Architecture, Kimley-Horn, ESG Design and Norris Design. The property at 1727 E. Pecos Road is comprised of three four-story buildings. MAA provided the developer with a $46.7M construction loan in 2020.

    7. StreetLights Residential’s newest multifamily community, The Beverly, is now leasing. The development is a part of the mixed-use development One Scottsdale at Scottsdale Road and Loop 101. The property offers 314 apartment homes ranging from studios to three bedrooms. StreeLights Creative Studio was the architect of record and interior designer. Norris Design served as landscape architect. StreetLights Arizona Construction, LLC served as general contractor.

    8. ARCO announced the completion of a 217KSF speculative warehouse for Silver Creek Development and Stonemont Financial. The single-story facility is on a 13.3-acre site in El Mirage.

    9. Granite Mountain Luxury Apartmentsat 8683 E. Commons Circle Drive in Prescott Valley finished construction. The community offers a clubhouse, social settings, coffee bar, concierge, electric vehicle garage and EV charging stations. The apartments are near downtown Prescott Valley.

    10. Sun State Builders completed construction on a 43.7KSF building for Hopewell Development. Construction began in early January. The building is a warehouse with 24-foot ceiling heights and an office suite that is now available for lease at the Deer Valley Technology Park at 2908 W. Deer Valley Road.

    11. The City of Avondale Police Department held a dedication ceremony for its new Public Safety Detention Center, located at 50 N. Eliseo C. Felix, Jr. Way. The $21.3M, 21.8KSF facility was designed by Perlman Architects and constructed by Willmeng Construction. The building features a police substation, staff offices, a defensive tactics training space, a locker room and a detention center with a capacity of 34 detainees.
