    Groundbreakings

    1. Empire Group of Companies announced the start of construction on its largest build-to-rent project in Arizona, the 354-unit Village at Bronco Trail. The 30-acre development site is located at Sonoran Desert Drive and 29th Avenue.

    2. Trilogy Investment Co. and Pinnacle Partners broke ground on Reve at Avondale Station, a $50M, 107-unit rental home community in Avondale. Some amenities will include a community clubhouse, pool and dog park. There was no expected completion time provided.

    3. Wild Horse Pass Development Authority and the Gila River Indian Community began construction on Sacaton Market, a grocery store, fueling station and laundromat in Sacaton. The store is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

    4. The City of Buckeye broke ground on the new 12KSF 911 Communications Center for the Buckeye Police Department. The new facility is expected to cost $16M and be complete by 2025.

    Progress Reports

    5. EdgeCore Digital Infrastructure received $1.9B in funds for its 3.1MSF, 450MW data center campus in Mesa. The loan was provided by MUFG Bank and was led by TD Securities, ING Capital LLC, Scotia Bank and Santander.

    6. The Bungalows on Bowlin, a 196-unit Build-to-Rent community, is nearing completion in Maricopa. The one-, two- and three-bedroom units range from 676SF to 1,355SF. Renters have begun moving into the units completed to date.

    7. City of Tempe announced that due to delays in materials, the water infrastructure construction project on Rural Road and U.S. 60 has been delayed and is expected to finish by the end of January 2024. This delay will continue road reduction on Rural Road but will still give access to the U.S. 60.

    Completions

    8. Valley Metro announced the completion of Northwest Extension Phase II, a 1.6-mile light rail system expansion in Phoenix. After four years of construction, the project was finished two years ahead of schedule.

    9. ECO Mesa, a 102-unit apartment building, completed construction in Mesa. The complex offers studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments with a total of 405 solar panels atop the building. CCGB Architects was the designer. Habitat Metro was the developer and Willmeng Construction was the general contractor.

    10. Andretti Indoor Karting & Games, a 95KSF entertainment center, opened in Chandler.

    11. San Luis Plaza LLC, an affiliate of PPEP Tec Charter School, announced the completion of the $8M Phase I of its new school project near Yuma. The first phase was construction of the 15KSF school. Phase II will provide 45KSF of mixed-use office space. Phase III will be a mixed-use development with 268 residential units and first-floor retail and office space.

    12. A.R. Mays Construction finished construction on the $6M Blanco Cocina + Cantina 12,840SF restaurant in Phoenix. Fox Restaurant Concepts was the developer, A.R. Mays was the general contractor and Nelsen Partners, Inc. was the architect.

    13. Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon Ride Co., completed construction on its new 14KSF headquarters in Glendale. The general contractor was Ganem Construction.
