    Awards & Accolades

    1. Mira, a 333-unit, seven-story apartment community at Arizona State University‘s Novus Innovation Corridor in Tempe, has achieved LEED Silver certification. Transwestern Development Company developed the project; Belshaw Mulholland Architects designed it, and Green Ideas Building Science Consultants managed the LEED certification process, including energy modeling and building systems commissioning. Mira is the third multifamily project to earn LEED Silver certification within Novus and the sixth Novus project certified by Green Ideas.

    Groundbreakings

    2. Willmeng Construction has begun work on GO | 99 North, a 1.1MSF speculative warehouse and distribution facility on 75 acres in Tolleson’s Estrella Park neighborhood. GO Industrial is the developer. DLR Group is the architect. The Class A industrial building is the largest speculative project in GO Industrial’s portfolio and is designed with 40-foot clear heights, 190 dock-high doors and four grade-level doors.

    3. Crescent Communities has broken ground on NOVEL Norterra, a four-story, 248-unit apartment community on an 8.5-acre site in the Norterra master-planned community in north Phoenix. The first residents’ move-ins are expected during spring 2028. The project marks the expansion of Crescent Communities Construction into the western U.S.

    4. Construction has begun at Signature at San Tan Village in Gilbert. The retail and restaurant development will be anchored by Whole Foods Market and Dick’s House of Sport.

    5. Construction has begun at The Nox, a 2,000-seat, 70KSF entertainment venue near Ray and Power roads in Mesa. The project is under development by the Bongiorno family and Streamline Companies and will provide a new Southeast Valley entertainment venue for concerts, comedy and events in a space with a Chicago warehouse-inspired design.

    6. The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin construction July 20 on the U.S. Highway 191 Passing Lanes Project between mileposts 132 and 135, approximately one mile north of the intersection with U.S. Highway 70 near Safford. The project includes new northbound and southbound passing lanes, a reinforced concrete box culvert, drainage improvements, fencing, pavement markings and updated signage. Construction is anticipated to take approximately six months and be completed in early 2027.

    Progress Reports

    7. Saddleback, a $1B, 5,300-acre master-planned community in Peoria by Castle Hill Partners, has opened six Taylor Morrison model homes ahead of the community’s first resident move-ins this summer. The models span three collections: Discovery, Encore and Passage. Lennar is scheduled to open its model homes in August. At full buildout, approximately 6,500 single-family homes, multifamily housing, a resort and up to 2MSF of commercial space are planned for the community.

    8. Construction is nearing completion on the first segment of the I-10 Wild Horse Pass Corridor Project between Phoenix and Casa Grande. Crews are completing two new I-10 bridges over the Gila River that will widen the freeway to three lanes in each direction, with the eastbound bridge scheduled for completion this fall. Work also continues on the segment between State Route 387 and Gas Line Road, where crews are adding a third lane in each direction and reconstructing interchanges. The full corridor project is expected to be completed by late 2029.

    9. Primak Construction Group is renovating and expanding High Desert Hyundai at 4195 Stockton Hill Road in Kingman. The 19.9KSF project includes renovation of the 14KSF service and sales center and additions comprising a 2.7KSF showroom, 2KSF service drive and 786SF vehicle delivery area. John Mahoney Architect, LLC designed the project, which began in February and is expected to be completed in September.

    11. The City of Prescott will complete the final phase of the Sheldon Street Water Main Project on July 28 at the intersection of Sheldon and Marina streets. Crews will place the new water main into service and complete final valve adjustments, marking completion of the project.
