    Groundbreakings

    1. Aligned Data Centers has broken ground on PHX-13, a 72 MW data center that is one of four facilities planned for the company’s 100-acre Glendale campus. The site will include a new 230 kV transmission line provided by Arizona Public Service. The facility will use modular construction methods in place of traditional stick-built methods to support sustainable and efficient construction.

      Progress Reports

      2. REMI Scottsdale, Autograph Collection is accepting reservations for its June grand opening. The 163-unit Marriott hotel is located at 4415 N. Buckboard Trail in Scottsdale’s Entertainment District.

      Completions

      3. XNRGY has completed construction of its first U.S. manufacturing facility in the $300M Gateway East business park project. XNRGY will occupy 275KSF of Gateway East, which is mid-development with four planned phases totaling 1MSF. Once the facility opens on May 1, XNRGY will manufacture heating and air conditioning systems there.

      4. International Logistics Solutions’ new 115KSF facility at 3780 E. Valencia Road in Tucson is now operational. The leased facility serves as its U.S. headquarters and distribution center. Bridge Investment Group and Flint Development own the property in Tucson Commerce Center. Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR represented ILS in the lease, and CBRE represented the landlord. The facility will support cross-border logistics, particularly in the automotive and aerospace sectors.

      5. In May, Harkins Theatres will open Harkins BackLot, its first family entertainment concept at Scottsdale’s Shops at Norterra. The 30KSF space will accompany Harkins’ existing 64KSF movie theatre in the retail center. A Buckeye BackLot location is planned for 2026.

      6. Big-D Construction recently announced two auto dealership completions in Casa Grande. Jerry Seiner Chrysler Dodge Ram Jeep showcased adaptive reuse, as the construction repurposed the southern portion of a former Sam’s Club into a fully operational, multi-brand automotive dealership. The new Jerry Seiner Chevrolet dealership was a ground-up project on a previously undeveloped site.

      7. Fox Restaurant Concepts has completed its Tempe location of Blanco Cocina + Cantina, a $3.2M, 10.5KSF restaurant at 717 S. Novus Place in the Novus Innovation Corridor. The project includes 7KSF of interior space and a 3.5KSF covered patio. A.R. Mays Construction served as the general contractor, and Nelsen Partners, Inc. was the architect. Construction began in May 2024 and wrapped in December.
