    Awards & Accolades 

    1. The Vantage Data Centers development by McCarthy Building Companies in Goodyear has been awarded a STAR Site designation from the Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health’s Voluntary Protection Program for “exemplary and comprehensive safety and health management systems.” 

    Groundbreakings 

    2. Diversified Partners announced it will break ground April 6 on the 11-acre, $125M Mercy Center development on the SEC of Val Vista Drive and East Mercy Road. Project components include a two-story retail, restaurant and office space, a two-story flagship Starbucks, a regional headquarters for Bell Bank in a three-story bank building, a five-story Residence Inn by Marriott and a Homewood Suites Hotel.  

    3. IndiCap held a groundbreaking this week for its Virgin Industrial Park project in Glendale. The development is a five-building, 1.5MSF Class A industrial project at the NWC of Olive and Reems roads.  

    4. The Arizona Department of Transportation has begun a project near Wickenburg to transform another five miles of US 93 from two lanes to a four-lane divided highway. The $51M project will upgrade US 93 between Tegner Street and Wickenburg Ranch Way. Construction is expected to continue for about two years. 

    Progress Reports 

    5. The KBE Building team has provided a status update on its work at The Abbington at Gilbert senior living project designed by FFKR. Work has been completed on the building concrete, MEP/FP and drywall in Areas A and B. Ongoing work includes painting, casework, running trim and millwork, door and hardware, site concrete, site masonry and stucco finishes. Completion is expected in June. 

    Completions 

    6. Stevens-Leinweber Construction has completed the custom build-out of 160KSF at Phoenix Logistics Center Two, designed to meet the manufacturing and distribution needs of new tenant Georgia-Pacific LLC. Totaling 481.6KSF, PLC Two is the second building in Merit Partners’ Phoenix Logistics Center industrial campus at the SEC of 91st Avenue and Buckeye Road in Phoenix. 

    7. Mark-Taylor Residential has announced its new BB Living at Union Park detached townhome rental community has delivered units and begun leasing. One four-bedroom floor plan is currently available, and other three- and four-bedroom layouts will become available through late June.  

    8. Mosaic is nearing completion on the first homes at Town Germann, a 209-unit community by Family Development. Family Development has begun pre-leasing the first of the luxury townhomes, with occupancy beginning in the spring of 2023. 

    9. A.R. Mays Construction has announced the completion of its $1.6M Apache Comfort Stations at Desert Mountain project. The single-story 750SF reprieve areas at the Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale were designed by DTJ DESIGN, Inc. Construction began last June.
