Groundbreakings
1. Child Crisis Arizona held a groundbreaking last week for its new 38KSF campus on 2.4 acres on West Rio Salado Parkway in Mesa.
2. Construction has begun on the 8.5KSF expansion at the Abrazo Arrowhead Campus in Glendale. The addition will expand the neonatal unit from 21 beds to 35 and support the facility’s efforts to gain certification as a Level IIIB Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The project is expected to deliver in late 2023.
3. The City of Maricopa held a groundbreaking ceremony for its Lake View Park improvement project. Phase I is expected to deliver this fall and include two baseball fields, restrooms, parking, concession space and lighting.
Progress Reports
4. Brinkmann Constructors’ Southern Arizona Logistics Team, with trade partner Concrete Strategies LLC, stood the first tilt-up panel for Flint Development’s Southern Arizona Logistics Center double warehouse project. When complete, the project will bring nearly 950KSF of industrial space to Marana.
Completions
5. Trammell Crow Company and JV partner CBRE Investment Management announced that construction is complete at Elliot Gateway in Mesa. The 516.6KSF, four-building logistics park sits on a 40.5-acre site at 9020 E. Elliot Road and includes four Class A industrial facilities.
6. Phase I of the Scottsdale Civic Center improvement project opened this week in advance of the Arizona Concours d’Elegance collector car event. Most of the $33.5M project was funded through the City’s 2019 bond election, with construction starting in Oct. 2021. The total project is expected to deliver in late March, and an April celebration is planned.
7. The City of Mesa recently held a grand opening for Lehi Sports Park (also known as the North Center Street Sports Complex). The park features five sports fields, which will be primarily used for soccer. All fields have LED lighting, and two are equipped with cameras to allow livestreaming of games.
8. The Phoenix office of JLL has completed build-out and moved into its new Arizona offices, located on the first floor of The Grove, at the NWC of 44th Street and Camelback Road in Phoenix. The new space expands JLL’s local footprint to 31KSF.
9. Eurofins CellTx has completed and begun operating in a 15KSF new laboratory space in the University of Arizona Tech Park on Rita Road in Tucson. The state-of-the-art facility will enable the company to provide same-day testing for biological samples.
10. A.R. Mays Construction announced it has completed construction on a $500K, 4.55KSF renovation at Scottsdale Ferrari, 18118 N. Scottsdale Road, Phoenix.
