Groundbreakings
1. City of Phoenix will begin installation of the Drought Pipeline under Glendale Avenue at 21st Street on February 14th as part of the $300M Drought Resiliency Infrastructure Program. The work is expected to take six to eight weeks. Construction for the project continues on Bell Road from 31st to 32nd Street. Additional pipeline work is ongoing along 32nd Street.
2. CapRock Partners has begun construction on the 2.56MSF first phase of its 2.56MSF CapRock West 202 Logistics spec industrial park near 59th Avenue and Van Buren. Completion is expected early next year.
3. Isola Communities has started construction on the 135-unit Mesa Build-to-Rent project Peralta Vista. The just-commenced first phase will consist of 25 homes, two garages, the leasing office and the clubhouse. There will be four more phases to deliver the remaining 110 units.
4. Construction is set to begin this month on a $9.6M collection of 27 affordable townhomes being developed by the Pasqua Yaqui Tribe. The project is the second phase of a master planned subdivision and is expected to deliver in the fall of next year. Townhomes will be dedicated as rentals for a minimum of 15 years.
5. Construction is underway for a 22KSF Marshalls store in Maricopa’s Sonoran Creek Marketplace.
6. Construction has begun on the $4.1M Peralta Regional Park near Gold Canyon.
Progress Reports
7. Construction is ongoing but nearing completion at Clayton Companies’ 34-unit apartment development The Clayton at the NEC of 12th Street and Highland Avenue in Phoenix.
8. Mortenson held an event this week to celebrate the ceremonial cross laminated timber “topping off” of The Beam on Farmer, Arizona’s first mass timber, multi-story office building.
Completions
9. The Refinery, a 120KSF office project that is also the first building in the University of Arizona Tech Park at The Bridges development near I-10 and Kino Parkway in Tucson, opened late last month.
10. The $129M Goodyear Surface Water Treatment Facility on 157th Avenue officially opened in early January.
