1. KORE Power and the City of Buckeye have been recognized by Business Facilities magazine’s Deal of Year awards for the agreement that will bring the company’s advanced lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing facility to Maricopa County.
Groundbreakings
2. Greystar Development has begun construction on its 155-unit, 180KSF senior living facility Greystar 90th Street & Raintree Road.
3. Vistancia has announced it has begun its second phase of development in its Northpointe at Vistancia community, the fourth and final community in the 7,100-acre Vistancia master plan.
4. Johnson Carlier has started construction on the remodel of Southwest Contemporary Women’s Care. The remodel will reduce waiting areas, maximize new employee break rooms, increase conference rooms and more appropriately house office and exam rooms.
Progress Reports
5. On January 22nd, I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project crews completed a critical step for the foundation that will support the new Broadway Road bridge being constructed over I-10. They poured 1,000 cubic yards of concrete to create a bridge footing.
6. Officials with the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority, Salt River Project and leaders of the Navajo Nation agreed to extend an agreement that paved the way for the first-ever, large-scale utility solar farm on the Navajo Nation, the “Kayenta I” facility. The groups also signed a contract for a new, 200MW solar resource on the Navajo Nation called “Cameron Solar” that is set to be operational by the end of 2023.
Completions
7. The Arizona Department of Transportation announced the Loop 303 widening and improvement project in north Peoria was completed on January 20th. Loop 303 has been widened from two to three lanes in each direction between Happy Valley and Lake Pleasant parkways as part of a $20.3M project that started in December 2020.
8. Durable medical equipment manufacturer Dynarex Corporation announced its new industrial warehouse at 7811 N. Glen Harbor Boulevard in Glendale. The 250KSF warehouse will serve as Dynarex’s Southwest regional distribution facility.
