    1. The Best of NAIOP celebrated 30 years of recognizing the top-performing people, companies and projects of 2024 on May 1st at the Arizona Financial Theatre in downtown Phoenix. The Arizona Chapter of NAIOP bestowed awards in 36 categories before a crowd of 1,030 commercial real estate professionals. The winners were:

    2. The Greater Phoenix Economic Council has received Site Selection Magazine’s Mac Conway Award for the ninth straight year. The group backed 50 projects in 2024, which are tied to more than 6,600 jobs and $2B in investment.

    3. Suntec Concrete President and CEO Derek Wright has been named a finalist for the 2025 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Pacific Southwest Award. Wright was recognized for his leadership and the company’s long-term value creation. Regional winners will be announced June 6.

    4. Lifestyle Homes was honored at the Builder 100 Leadership Summit for making Builder Magazine’s 2025 list of top U.S. homebuilders. The firm specializes in high-density Build-to-Rent communities.

    Company News

    5. Caliber Hospitality Development has entered a development rights agreement with Hyatt Hotels Corporation to build 15 Hyatt Studios hotels across Ariz., Colo., Nev., Texas and La. Each hotel will include approximately 122 apartment-style suites that target the upper-midscale extended-stay segment. The first two projects will break ground in Georgetown, Texas in late 2025 and Scottsdale in mid-2026. Caliber estimates the portfolio will add $400M in assets under management over three to five years.

    6. Catalyst Commercial Group is now handling leasing for Macerich’s Arizona retail portfolio. Properties include Scottsdale Fashion Square, Arrowhead Towne Center, Chandler Fashion Center, Desert Sky Mall and SanTan Village. The agreement supplements Macerich’s internal leasing team and focuses on long-term and harder-to-lease spaces.

    7. Environmental, natural resources, and energy attorney Michelle De Blasi is marking a major milestone by celebrating her firm’s fifth anniversary, while also celebrating a series of prestigious achievements and industry recognitions that underscore her impact and expertise. In addition to her extensive client representation, De Blasi has also served in leadership roles with a variety of organizations and programs, including Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law Mentorship Initiative for Sustainability Law, The Women’s Professional Power Scholarship at ASU’s law school, the Southwest Energy Conference and the Arizona Energy Consortium. For more than a decade, De Blasi has been recognized for her excellence in providing legal services in the environmental and energy legal fields in Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, Southwest Super Lawyers and as an Environmental Law Business Leader in AzBusiness Magazine.

    Promotions

    8. Jaime Northam has been promoted to Senior VP of Healthcare Development at Ryan Companies US, Inc. She will oversee healthcare development projects and strategic initiatives across the western U.S. Northam brings 25 years of industry experience to the role.

    9. Blair Larson and Tommy Hartford have been promoted at B&F Contracting. Larson is now Division Manager, Commercial Wet Utilities, overseeing operations, project management and client relations. Hartford has been named Chief Estimator and will lead the estimating team, manage complex bid proposals and support planning and project acquisition.

    New Hires

    10. B&F Contracting has hired Saakshi Amrale as a Project Engineer I on its Preconstruction team. Amrale comes to the position after finishing her degree at Arizona State University.
