1. Northern Arizona University hosted a Construction Management Career Fair in Flagstaff on Feb. 28. B&F Contracting, Inc. Project Manager Marco Velarde and Assistant Project Manager Andrea Groak visited with students and discussed career opportunities in the underground utilities industry. 120 students met with general contractors and discussed potential internship opportunities in the construction field.
2. Mark-Taylor is celebrating 40 years in the multifamily industry. The company has formed a C-suite leadership team in response to its growth and innovation. All C-suite members have been previous leaders at Mark-Taylor. These inaugural members include:
- John Carlson, Chief Executive Officer;
- Michael Wilson, Chief Operating Officer;
- Dustin Lacey, Chief Technology Officer, and
- Lindsay McMahon, Chief Financial Officer.
The company expects to continue to exceed expectations and grow in the coming years.
Promotions
3. Christopher Perez has been promoted to Regional VP of Arizona for Engel & Völkers Gestalt Group. Perez possesses a strong background in leadership and market expansion and will oversee company operations in Arizona.
4. The multidisciplinary civil engineering firm Dibble’s new Utilities Business Leader is Ezra Page. Page has more than 25 years of experience in the industry, with niche expertise in pipeline conveyance, water supply, wastewater management and reuse. Page will now oversee Dibble’s utilities operations and business development across Arizona, Colorado and the Southwest.
New Hires
5. Patrick Mohr is now the Materials Project Manager in Terracon’s Tucson office. He was transferred from Terracon’s office in Kansas. Mohr has 11 years of experience in materials testing and inspection and supports a team of 14 field technicians and four laboratory technicians.
6. Achen-Gardner Construction has hired Bryon Lively and Emma Schiefelbein. Lively has been hired as a Senior Estimator, and Schiefelbein as a Proposal Coordinator.
7. JW Civil has hired Tyler Herbert as a Project Manager. Herbert has decades of experience in the civil construction industry. His new responsibilities include managing grading and utility projects across southern Arizona, coordinating among subcontractors, vendors and public agencies and building relationships with current and future clients.
8. DFDG Architecture recently announced four additions to its Phoenix team. Joining the architectural staff are Ian Min and Cleo Johnson. On the interiors side, DFDG added Laura Stine. Finishing out the new team members is Sara Mecca-Whitlock, who will finish out her last year at ASU as an intern.
