    Giving Back

    1. A group of Brycon employees joined together recently to volunteer at St. Mary’s Food Bank. St. Mary’s provides food to families, children, seniors and various shelters/agencies in need, all at no cost. The Brycon team assisted with packaging and food distribution.

    Awards & Accolades

    2. BOMA Greater Phoenix held its 2024 Fall Gala Member Awards Dinner at The Clayton House in Scottsdale. Members were honored in 10 categories. They were:

    • Allied Partner of the Year (tie): Cynthia Aburto, Allstar Pro Painting, and Dave Little, K.M. Facility Services;
    • Builder Engineer of the Year: Jeff Potts, Shorenstein Realty Services;
    • Civic Excellence Award: Patty Hartley, MODE Commercial Property Management;
    • Committee Chair of the Year Award: Michael Scott, Weems Asphalt, and Carrie Scott, Allegis Group;
    • Committee Member of the Year: Jim Quinn, Diversified Roofing Group;
    • Helping Hand Award: Ernie Jackson, Plaza Companies;
    • Positive Attitude Award: Mary Crowder, SERRVPRO of North Tempe;
    • Property Manager of the Year Award: Emily Mehta, Shorenstein Realty Services;
    • Service to the Profession: Jayme Bartholomew, Development Services of America, and
    • Young Professional of the Year Award: Craig Petrovich, Sanders & Wohrman Corporation.

    3. DCS Contracting was recognized by the Chandler Chamber of Commerce as one of the city’s Top 100 companies. This year DCS was ranked 39th.

    4. Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR was recognized as a Tucson Top Workplace for 2024. The company secured the number two position in the small business category by Tucson Media Partners & AZ Central. C&W | PICOR also received the “New Ideas” recognition.

    5. Non-profit education foundation The National Center for Construction Education and Research and its Build Your Future initiative celebrated the 12th annual Careers in Construction Month this October. The campaign aimed to increase public awareness of construction careers and inspire the next generation of craft professionals. Requests to state governments to proclaim October as CICM were filed by residents in 26 states and U.S. territories, with 16 states issuing an official proclamation.

    Boards & Commissions

    6. BOMA Greater Phoenix elected its 2025 officers and board members. Kathryn Rhinehart of NAI Horizon will serve her second term as President in 2025. Rhinehart is joined by:

    • VP Amanda Forsmo of Ryan Companies;
    • Treasurer Carrie Scott of Allegis Group, Inc., and
    • Allied Chair Mary Crowder of SERVPRO of North Tempe.

    The incoming Board Governor will be voted in by the board. Board members for 2025 consist of:

    • Bella Barker of Ace Building Maintenance;
    • Patty Hartley of MODE Commercial;
    • Ernie Jackson of Plaza Companies;
    • Debbie Lang of Ryan Companies;
    • Jeremy Lane of Paragon Services;
    • Alexis Matt of Newmark;

    Company News

    7. GHD announced it is entering the dams and hydropower market in the US West region with the formation of a new business and team led by Sridhar Sadasivan. The expansion is driven by a newly formed team that brings experience and expertise in civil engineering and geotechnical services, including dam safety, design and rehabilitation. The new team will include Joe Kulikowski and Dr. Soma Balachandran.

    Promotions

    8. NAI Horizon announced Lane Neville has been promoted to Managing Director. Neville is a veteran investment sales specialist and brokerage team leader for the Investment Services Group, Healthcare Advisory Group and the Special Asset Solutions Group at NAI Horizon. Neville, a Principal Partner and Board Member at the firm, was promoted from Executive VP, a position he held for the past four years.

    New Hires

    9. Scott Knauer has been named Senior VP | Institutional Relationship Manager with Colliers and the National Colliers Cooke Multifamily Team. Knauer has a history of success as Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer for Orion Residential. During his career, Knauer has directed the development, acquisition, management and divestiture of properties valued in excess of $5B.

    10. NAI Horizon has hired Kathryn Rhinehart as Senior Property Manager. Rhinehart has more than 40 years of property management experience and leadership roles. She is also the President of the BOMA Greater Phoenix chapter.
