Giving Back
1. Deutsch Architecture Group is collecting new, unwrapped toys in partnership with The Salvation Army Forgotten Angels Program. The program makes it possible to put presents underneath the tree for children who might not otherwise receive a gift. 2. The Greater Phoenix Chapter of IFMA hosted its annual charity golf tournament at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club in Phoenix. The Chapter supported three charities: Girls Can Build, Lokahi Teams and the IFMA Foundation. A costume contest was also held during the event.
Awards & Accolades
3. The Arizona Finance Authority received the Distinguished Development Finance Agency – State Award from the Council of Development Finance Authority, which is housed in the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity. The award recognizes the AFA for its work to create jobs, boost local economies and make communities better places to live.
4. The Arizona Department of Transportation’s Jeremy Moore and Anthony Torres were nominated by Ariel Platt for the Department of Defense’s Employer Support for Guard and Reserve award. The award honored ADOT, Moore and Torres for supporting Platt’s service with flexible schedules, time off for training and an appreciation for the skills he brings back to ADOT. Platt is a construction inspector who has worked at ADOT for more than two years, serving in the National Guard for 12 years.

5. President and CEO of B&F Contracting Bruce Balls announced that beginning in January 2025, B&F will select a Board of Directors that includes individuals from outside the firm. Balls will assume the role of Chairman of the Board. For the immediate future, he will continue as B&F’s CEO. Joshua Onstott, the current Executive Director, will be promoted to President, and Jayson Vanvolkinburg, the current Director of Operations, will be promoted to Executive VP.
6. Grace Hebert Curtis Architects announced it invested in Orcutt|Winslow. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Following the transaction, the platform will operate under the GHC + Orcutt|Winslow brand and will continue to be led by CEO Jerry Hebert. Orcutt Winslow Managing Partners Vispi Karanjia and Erik Clinite will join the combined platform’s leadership team. GHC + Orcutt|Winslow is a portfolio company of Bernhard Capital Partners.
Promotions
7. AAM LLC announced the promotion of Elaine Anghel as COO. In her previous role as Senior VP of On-site Community Management, Anghel spearheaded initiatives that enhanced efficiency, client satisfaction and team development.
8. Sundt Construction announced Sam Reidy as President of its new Water & Wastewater Group. Reidy has nearly 20 years and more than $1B of project experience. Previously, Reidy has overseen Sundt’s municipal water and wastewater market for the western United States.
9. Sundt Construction announced the promotion of Paul Levin to Senior VP of Health, Safety & Environment. Levin has 36 years of experience in the construction industry and spearheaded Sundt’s award-winning STOP The STCKY Program.
10. PCL Construction announced the promotion of Seth Richards to Special Projects Manager of the company’s civil infrastructure division based in Tempe. Richards has 12 years of experience working on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
11. B&F Contracting announced Alex Larson’s promotion to Assistant Project Manager. Larson has significantly contributed to the success of multiple projects in the Wet Commercial market since joining the company in 2022.
12. Nelsen Partners announced the promotion of Jeff Keenan to Associate. Keenan joined the company in 2021 and has led the contract administration team and efforts in the firm’s Scottsdale office.
New Hires
13. Arcoro’s Board of Directors has appointed Dave Gray as CEO. Gray will join the board and assume Arcoro’s day-to-day leadership. He has extensive experience in building efficient teams and a strong track record of growth/market expansion.
14. NOVO Development, LLC announced the hiring of Zachary Olivet as VP. Olivet specializes in sales and leasing of industrial, office/warehouse and flex properties throughout Phoenix. Olivet has worked the local market as well as completing multiple national transactions.
15. Chanen Construction, a Dick Anderson Construction company, announced Dean Howard as VP of Business Development. In his role, Howard will help unify the building expertise of Chanen and DAC to serve owners and developers focused on Arizona’s next generation of healthcare, hospitality and commercial properties.
16. Modern Business Development announced the hiring of Nataliya Palakanis as the firm’s Director of Business Development. Palakanis’ duties will involve creating and implementing strategic growth initiatives to expand the company’s/client’s reach and partnerships. Palakanis will focus on connections with general contractors, property managers, facility managers and subcontractors.
