Evolve Ventures has submitted a pre-application to the City of Maricopa seeking to build a new 40KSF Mountainside Fitness near John Wayne Parkway and Honeycutt Avenue, south of the existing Lowe’s Home Improvement store.
Mountainside has more than 20 locations across the state, with more in development and expected to open within the year.
This is not the first time a Mountainside Fitness location has been proposed in Maricopa. Hatten Holdings planned a facility at John Wayne Parkway and Edison in 2006, but the project was dropped in 2008 after it had broken ground. Representatives said the timing was not right for such a major investment.
