    Awards & Accolades

    1. Portico in Scottsdale received the Gold Nugget Grand Award for Best Multifamily Housing Community – 20-30 DU/AC. Presented by CBIA and PCBC, the national award recognized the multifamily community from Belgravia Group, with Maris Construction serving as the builder, KTGY providing architecture and interior design, CollectiV as the landscape designer and Wood Patel as the civil engineer.

    Progress Reports

    2. Chandler Fashion Center will begin construction next month on a new entertainment and dining district near the Harkins Theatres on the property’s south end as part of the center’s ongoing improvements. The project will add a restaurant row, a gathering space, expanded splash pad and park. The new restaurants are expected to open next year.

    3. Life Time Living at PV topped out in Phoenix. The 11-story, 327-unit, approximately 650KSF luxury residential community is part of the more than $2B PV redevelopment. RED Development is the developer; Clayco is the general contractor, and Lamar Johnson Collaborative is the architect. The community is expected to open in 2027.

    4. Achen-Gardner Construction is continuing with the City of Buckeye‘s Improvements to Verrado Way and Yuma Road Intersection Project. Crews are installing more than 1.7KLF of 36-inch storm drain and grading the corridor for the next phase of roadway construction. The project will add travel lanes on Verrado Way between Yuma Road and Van Buren Street, along with drainage, traffic signal, street lighting and utility improvements. Construction is expected to be completed in November.

    Completions

    5. Pecos 17, a 168KSF, 12-building neighborhood flex bay campus, has been completed along East Pecos Road in the Pecos Advanced Manufacturing Zone near Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and Loop 202. The project was developed by Cavan Commercial, with CHASSE Building Team serving as the general contractor, Pinnacle Design as the architect and KBELL Engineering LLC as the engineer.

    6. After five years of construction, the Gilbert Road Pipeline is complete. The 3.5-mile Salt River Project pipeline connects wells and an underground storage facility south of the Salt River to the Arizona Canal. The project was completed in partnership with the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and the Maricopa County Department of Transportation.

    7. The City of Tucson opened the Southside Public Safety Complex, a 56.3KSF facility at 4410 S. Park Ave. that houses the Tucson Police Department‘s Southside Substation and Tucson Fire Department‘s Station 10. Lloyd Construction served as the general contractor, and CORE Construction delivered the project.

    8. Safeway opened a 64KSF grocery store at The Gilmore mixed-use development at 3960 S. Val Vista Dr. in Gilbert. As part of the opening, the Safeway Foundation awarded more than $280K in grants to local schools and nonprofit organizations.

    9. The Arizona Department of Transportation completed two projects along US 60 near Show Low. One project added approximately three miles of passing lanes between Little Mormon Lake Road and Bell Spring, with one passing lane in each direction between mileposts 345 and 348, along with new pavement markings, drainage improvements and signage. The second project rehabilitated 16 miles of pavement between State Route 61 and Wildcat Creek. The $9.5M project included pavement replacement, shoulder improvements, guardrail replacement and drainage upgrades.

    10. A $3M Arizona Department of Transportation project to improve several cross streets over Interstate 10 in Phoenix wrapped up approximately three weeks ahead of schedule. The work resurfaced sections of 7th Street and cross streets between Elliot Road and Chandler Blvd. while adding sidewalk and other infrastructure improvements. ADOT partnered with the City of Phoenix on the project.

    11. Achen-Gardner Construction installed more than 500LF of storm drain and relocated more than 400LF of water lines on the 3rd Avenue: Thomas Road to Earll Drive Drainage Improvements Project in Phoenix. The work is part of the City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department General Construction JOC and will improve drainage and underground utility infrastructure along the corridor.

    12. A leak identified through the FIDO AI LeakLocate system prompted the installation of a new 12-inch water line at Goodyear Ballpark. The repair was completed by Achen-Gardner Construction as part of the City of Goodyear Underground Infrastructure JOC, which includes water and sewer infrastructure improvements throughout the city.

    13. Elevate Trampoline Park opened its new location at 14537 W. Grand Ave., Suite 200, in Surprise. City officials and company representatives celebrated the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
