National nonresidential construction spending declined 0.8ย percentย in December 2020, according to anย Associated Builders and Contractorsย analysis of data published by theย U.S. Census Bureau. On a seasonally adjusted annualized basis, nonresidential spending totaled $790.2Bย for the month, 4.8ย percentย lower than in December 2019 but 3.8ย percentย higher than in December 2018.ย
Spending fellย on a monthly basisย in nine of the 16 nonresidential subcategories. Private nonresidential spending was down 1.7ย percent, while public nonresidential construction spending was up 0.5ย percentย in December.ย (Source)ย
