    Giving Back

    1. Catholic Charities received a free solar-covered parking structure through Salt River Project’s Solar for Nonprofits program. Catholic Charities’ Phoenix location will reduce energy costs by 25% with the new system, allowing more funds to go toward programming.

    2. Junior Achievement received a $700K federal grant for renovations at BizTown, a mock town to allow kids to learn finance management, in Tempe. The renovations will help fund new technology, floors and HVAC updates. Renovations are expected to be completed over the summer.

    3. The Rosendin Foundation has announced this year’s TRF Camp Build will run June 3-June 7 at the Phoenix Electrical Training Alliance, 1520 E Indianola Ave, Phoenix. Camp Build is a weeklong co-ed camp designed by The Rosendin Foundation for current 6-8 graders. Led by experts from Rosendin and local construction partners, students will learn to use power tools and engage in hands-on activities such as concrete and rebar work, soldering, pipe bending, Building Information Modeling, heavy equipment operation, framing, woodworking, roofing and painting.

    4. ENR Southwest has named Sundt Construction as its Southwest Contractor of the Year for 2024. Some of the contributing factors include: developing a revenue of $54M in 2023, developing the Stop The STCKY safety program, and the company training center receiving NCCER accreditation.

    5. Ranking Arizona has released its list of the Top 10 Multifamily Builders in Arizona. The winners are:

    3. Adolfson & Peterson Construction,
    4. NexMetro Communities,
    5. Liv Communities,
    6. CHASSE Building Team,

    6. GCON Inc. received the Platinum Safety Award from Highwire for its commitment to safety performance in construction.

    7. Crexi announced nine Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR brokers as winners of its annual Platinum Broker Lease Awards. This awards program has been recognizing the highest-performing brokers on Crexi’s platform since 2022. The C&W | PICOR awardees are:

    Boards & Commissions

    8. Governor Katie Hobbs has appointed Sam Elters, Mohave County Manager, to the State Transportation Board, succeeding the late Gary Knight. Elters will represent La Paz, Mohave, Yavapai and Yuma counties. His term ends Jan. 21, 2030.

    Promotions

    9. The Coconino County Board of Supervisors has unanimously appointed Andy Bertelsen as the new County Manager. Bertelsen currently serves as Deputy County Manager. He will begin the new role July 1.

    New Hires

    10. Kendra Vadnal has joined EHS Restoration as the company’s newest Business Development Specialist.
