    Giving Back

    1. The annual Phoenix Sundt Foundation Charity Golf Tournament raised $240K to benefit Sojourner Center, a Valley nonprofit that delivers critical services for survivors of domestic abuse.

    2. Valor Pavement Solutions restored the parking lot at Familia De Comunion Por Garcia to improve safety, accessibility and long-term functionality for the community gathering place. The company said the project supports its commitment to strengthening local neighborhoods through community service.

    Awards & Accolades

    3. Sundt has been awarded the Construction Safety Excellence Grand Award by the Associated General Contractors of America for the third time, which is more than any other general contractor in the U.S.

    4. AZ Big Media announced its Top 10 Construction Litigation Law Firms as part of the 2026 edition of Ranking Arizona. The recognized firms are as follows:

    5. The Design-Build Institute of America earned five Stevie Awards in the 2026 American Business Awards, marking its fourth consecutive year receiving the honors and its highest total to date. Gold Stevie honors were awarded to Danielle Hall and William E. Reifsteck II, along with Silver Stevie honors for Erin Looney, Fred Yi and The Design-Build Delivers Podcast.

    6. Lifestyle Homes earned a spot on the 2026 Builder 100 List by BUILDER Magazine for the second consecutive year. Lifestyle Homes is a general contractor specializing in high-density Build-to-Rent communities across Arizona.

    Company News

    7. Opus celebrated its Founder’s Day on April 22. Gerry Rauenhorst, the founder, signed his first construction contract on April 22, 1953.

    8. Butler Design Group recently celebrated its 30-year anniversary. BDG was founded by Rick Butler and Jeff Cutberth. In celebration, the company held an anniversary party with more than 400 attendees.

    Promotions

    9. BRR Architecture promoted Kate Chilton to Associate. Chilton joined the firm in 2019 and serves as a Project Lead in the Phoenix office. She oversees a portfolio of retail and convenience store projects, including tenant improvements, renovations and prototype development.

    10. Wespac Construction announced multiple promotions. Ian Fawley and Matt McPherron were promoted to Associate VP. David Rich and Josh Fuller were promoted to Project Engineer.

    11. Micah Deitz was promoted to Design Director – Retail at Nadel Architecture + Planning, serving the firm’s Los Angeles and Scottsdale studios. He has 15 years of experience in retail design and leads strategy for multidisciplinary assignments spanning mixed-use and specialty retail projects.

    New Hires

    12. After a nationwide search, GCON Inc. has hired Leary Jones as VP, Environment, Health and Safety. Jones is a 40-year industry veteran and is tasked with scaling the company’s award-winning safety culture across its growing nationwide operations.

    13. The Liles Industrial Team has joined the Phoenix office of Colliers. Ted Liles joins Colliers as an Executive VP. David Perez is a Senior Associate, and Adrea Pringle serves as an Associate VP and Transaction Manager. Liles has worked in industrial real estate for more than 19 years. Perez joined the Industrial Team a year ago, and Pringle has been in the real estate industry since 2019.

    Retirements

    14. Florence Town Manager Bruce Walls is scheduled to retire Aug. 1. His more than 40-year career in public service has ranged from municipal administration to military service. He became the Florence Town Manager on April 2, 2024.
