    1. The Arizona Builders Alliance hosted a career fair at its SkySong office, connecting West-MEC electrical program graduates with seven construction companies: Rosendin, TDIndustries, Kearney Electric, Quantum Industrial, Rural Electric, Wilson Electrical and Berg Electric. The event featured speed interviews and resulted in immediate job offers.

    2. Lōkahi Traffic Engineering and Lōkahi Teams have named the 2026 winners of their scholarship programs, recognizing Arizona high school students for leadership, service and community involvement. The initiative highlights students who demonstrate a commitment to collaboration, mentorship and supporting their local communities.

    6. The Town of Gilbert has received reaccreditation from the International Economic Development Council as an Accredited Economic Development Organization, a status it has held since 2013. The designation recognizes adherence to industry standards, with evaluators highlighting the Town’s leadership, organizational strength and long-range planning efforts.

    Company News

    7. Hovnanian Enterprises Inc. and GTIS Partners LP expanded their homebuilding joint venture with a $200M capital infusion, increasing the venture’s total value to $8B. The additional funding will support the development and sale of homes across a multistate portfolio of communities.

    8. KB Home announced it is moving from Los Angeles to Tempe by spring 2027. The homebuilder plans to move to Hayden Ferry Lakeside, marking its return to the Phoenix metropolitan area. The company was based in Phoenix in the 1960s prior to moving to Los Angeles.

    9. The Pennant Group Inc. has acquired the real estate and operations of Arbor Rose Senior Living in Mesa, which has been rebranded as Lavender Lane Senior Living. The property includes 74 licensed beds, with 44 assisted living and 30 memory care beds, as well as 25 independent living units.

    10. SSOE Group has opened a 60-person office in Scottsdale at 16220 N. Scottsdale Road, with Principal Jennifer Willard leading the team. The firm said the new location strengthens its 13-year-long regional presence and builds on more than 1,000 projects completed in Arizona.

    11. Consultant Engineering Inc. marked its 30th anniversary on April 8, celebrating its founding in 1996 and three decades of growth, project delivery and employee-focused culture.

    Promotions

    12. BEX is proud to announce the promotion of Andrea Howard and Brianna Johnson to Senior Market Researcher. Howard joined the company in 2021 and serves as our primary market researcher for Multifamily. Johnson joined in 2022 and is the vertical Public researcher for the K-12, Higher Education, Public Spaces and Tribal market sectors. The entire team is delighted to see these two devoted BEXperts earn this much-deserved recognition.

    13. Dave Hanson was promoted to VP – Project Executive at JE Dunn Construction Co. He brings more than 20 years of industry experience, including 12 years with the company, and has contributed to the expansion of its Phoenix office.

    New Hires

    14. Bryan Langley has been named City Manager for the City of Goodyear and will begin the role May 18. He previously served as City Manager for Kyle, Texas, where he oversaw a $600M budget and a $1.3B capital improvement program.

    15. STORE Management hired Ashley Reyes as its Managing Director of Operations. Reyes has more than 10 years of experience and will oversee day-to-day operations, revenue growth and vendor partnerships.

    16. Brien Contracting recently hired Gabrielle Sikes as its new Director of Brand & Marketing. Sikes has a decade of experience in marketing in hospitality, entertainment, technology and interior design. She will oversee the brand, marketing and communication strategy of the contracting company.

    17. Staci Sinay joined Landscape Forms as Business Development Representative for Arizona. Sinay has more than 20 years of experience in sales and business development. She will support Landscape Form’s growth throughout the Southwest region.
