    Awards & Accolades

    1. The Arizona Department of Transportation’s $70M Loop 303 Interchange project has received an award in the “Quality of Life/Community Development, Medium Project” category in a national competition among state departments of transportation. The competition was sponsored by AASHTO and was presented at the annual WASHTO meeting.

    Groundbreakings

    2. Formation Interest, Crescent Real Estate, Willmeng Construction and the City of Goodyear held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Formation Park 10 industrial development. Phase I consists of two buildings totaling 427KSF and a large park for future tenants and the surrounding community.

    3. Fain Signature Group broke ground on TownePlace Suites by Marriot, a 93-room hotel in Prescott Valley. Construction is expected to take 16-18 months to complete. Beck Legacy Group and Pinnacle Bank are members of the project team.

    4. The City of Maricopa announced the beginning of construction on the Smith Enke Road and John Wayne Parkway Intersection Improvement Project. The improvements include added safety features, dual left turn lanes and a dedicated right turn lane onto northbound John Wayne Parkway.

    Progress Reports

    5. Brinkmann Constructors celebrated the topping out of The X Roosevelt, a 19-story, 370-unit apartment tower in Phoenix. The 325KSF tower is located in the Roosevelt Row Arts District. The X Company is the developer. Lamar Johnson Collaborative is the architect. Construction is scheduled for completion in fall 2025.

    Completions

    6. LGE Design Build announced the completion of Phase II of Chandler Airpark Technology Center, a four-building, 430.7KSF industrial center in Chandler. Phase I included two buildings of 130.57KSF and 97.13KSF. Phase II included an additional two buildings of 114.25KSF and 88.75KSF.

    7. Wespac Construction, Inc. announced the completion of Surprise Crossing, a 274KSF industrial facility in Surprise. Panattoni Development Co. is the owner and developer. Cawley Architects was the designer. JLL was the broker. The facility offers 24-foot high ceilings, private office spaces, a break room and a conference room.

    8. Virgin Galactic announced the completion of the interior buildout for its manufacturing facility at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, totaling 140KSF in two hangars. Final assembly of spaceships is expected to commence in Q1 2025, with commercial operations to begin 2026.

    9. Greenlight Communities and Holualoa Companies announced the completion of Villa Cielo Cortaro, a 196-unit apartment community in Tucson. The community offers studio, one- and two-bedroom units.

    10. The Gilbert Police Department has reopened its improved communications center. Construction began in January 2023. The center went from 4.5KSF to 10.5KSF, offering a new dispatch floor with 19 dispatch consoles along with upgraded radio dispatch capabilities. Other additions include a baby-at-work room, a quiet room for decompression, a fitness room and a break room. 

    11. The Wigwam announced the completion of renovations at its resort in Litchfield Park. The renovations included the replacement of a waterslide with a dual waterslide and the modernization of rooms. The renovations took eight weeks to complete.

    12. A.R. Mays Construction announced the completion of the $3.2M Sprouts Farmers Market – Tramonto Marketplace, a 28KSF retail space in Phoenix. Sprouts Farmers Market is the developer. A.R. Mays was the general contractor. Nadel Architects was the architect.
