    Groundbreakings

    1. Sundt Construction has broken ground on the Strategic Academic Flight Education Building and the T-3 Residence Halls at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The $80M T-3 Residence Halls will contain two student housing complexes, each 80KSF and four stories tall, housing 300 students in total. The $10M S.A.F.E. Building will be 20KSF and designated for flight training.

    2. Work on a new West-MEC Southeast Campus began on Feb. 25. DLR Group is the design firm for the project, and CHASSE Building Team is the general contractor. The campus plot is 30 acres and located at W. 93rd Street and Osborn Road, just off of Loop 101. The first phase of construction is a 50KSF space. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2026.

    Completions

    3. The 69KSF Queen Creek Recreation & Aquatic Center in Frontier Family Park will open on Mar. 29. The $67.9M center began construction in May 2023. The recreation center’s capacity is approximately 1500 people, and the aquatic center’s is 800. Access will be restricted to Queen Creek residents and their guests.

    4. Big-D Construction completed work on Agave House, an affordable housing community by Real Estate Equities. The project was designed by Kaas-Wilson Architects and led by Big-D Midwest. The community, located in Casa Grande, includes 216 one, two, three and four-bedroom units.

    5. Construction on the Earnhardt Genesis of Chandler dealership is complete. LGE Design Build was the GC for the 24KSF sustainable and modern facility.

    6. Renovation of the catheterization lab on the Abrazo West Campus has concluded. These upgrades began in 2023, with the most recent renovation costing $3M. The renovation primarily included technological improvements, along with lighting and table upgrades.

    7. The refurbishment of El Oso Park in west Phoenix is complete. The Maryvale project was proposed in 2023 to the Phoenix City Council and approved using the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Mike Kennedy “Diamonds Back” Field Building Program. Work included the fields, baseball equipment, and sprinkler upgrades.

    8. Construction of five spec suites at INSIO at Kierland is complete. The office campus, located at 16260 N. 71st in Scottsdale, contains two buildings and is 240.4KSF, with suites that range from 4KSF to 8KSF. Construction on another renovation at the property also began. Stream Realty Partners oversaw construction of the new campus for the Vero Capital-affiliated owners and will also oversee the renovation, handled by Willmeng Construction. Good City Studio is the architect for the renovation. The new renovation will feature a 5KSF fitness center, 5KSF courtyard and other amenities.
