An Old Town Scottsdale residential development that once set off an unrelated controversy is set to begin construction early next year.
The Goldwater Residences is planned as a five-story, 40-unit condominium community with 7.5KSF of ground-floor commercial space at 7000 E. 4th St.
Headquartered in Spain, owner Adlanto secured approval for its plan to build the condo project from the Scottsdale Development Review Board in 2022. It was recently announced Plaza Companies has joined the development team to serve as “advisor, design and construction manager,” to provide “the local knowledge and relationships needed to make the project successful.”
The Goldwater Residences is Adlanto’s first residential project in the U.S.
In 2022, the project was at the center of a local controversy not because of its design or location, but because of a procedural and propriety dispute between members of the Development Review Board, City Council and Mayor David Ortega over the extent to which Ortega inserted himself in hearings and meetings of various boards and commissions.
The DATABEX project database shows little officially trackable movement on the development after July 2022.
The announcement by Adlanto and Plaza Companies disclosed 25% of the planned units are already reserved. Oriana Lehman Wood of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty will serve as the broker for the property. Lightvox Studio is the architect, and the general contractor is Ameris Construction.
