    Giving Back 

    1. The International Facilities Management Association Greater Phoenix Chapter launched a new community in September to bridge the gap between active-duty military and veterans with facility management-specific skills and the facility management profession. Volunteer positions in the program include: Advocate: One person from each component who will work with leadership to facilitate the recruitment and retention of military veterans; the Wingman: a member with prior military service who will be connected with each new military or veteran member; and the Liaison: a person who will be a link between their component and the military community.

    2. Arizona Masonry Council has announced its new officers and board of directors.

    Company News 

    4. Mesa-based Rock Pros USA announced the acquisition of Tucson-based Kalamazoo Materials, Inc. With the purchase, Rock Pros USA now owns 13 quarries boasting 18 unique colors across the Southwest.  

    Promotions 

    5. Prescott City Council has named Tyler Goodman Interim City Manager. Goodman has worked for the City since 2016, and was named Deputy City Manager in January 2022. He will begin the role on Feb. 14 when the resignation of current City Manager Michael Lamar goes into effect and will serve until a permanent city manager is named.   

    New Hires 

    6. Rod Miller has joined Big-D Construction as Director of Preconstruction. He will be responsible for all preconstruction activities in the Southwest. 

    7. Lamar Johnson Collaborative recently made three new hires. Eduardo Perez has joined as Principal, and Regan Romero and Eddie Curiel have joined as Senior Associates. 

    8. Joanne McLaughlin has been hired at ViaSun to serve as Contracts Coordinator.
