1. Plaza Companies CEO and Co-founder Sharon Harper has earned “AZRE Magazine”’s first Icon Award. The award will be presented at the annual Most Influential Women in Arizona celebration on August 25th.
2. Hensel Phelps’ diversity and inclusion efforts received national recognition by the Associated Builders and Contractors, Associated General Contractors and the U.S. Small Business Administration. This year’s diversity trifecta includes the ABC National Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Excellence Award in the General Contractor category, the AGC Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Award in the General or Specialty Contractor – Large Contractor category and the SBA Dwight D. Eisenhower Award recognizing their diversity and inclusion efforts.
3. Multifamily real estate firm MC Companies has earned the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation‘s Corporate Champion Award – a national honor given to only one company, once each year. The award is thanks to the work of MC’s in-house Sharing the Good Life Foundation, an employee-supported division of MC Companies committed to giving back to the communities in which MC Companies owns and builds.

4. RICK Engineering Company has acquired Cypress Civil Development, a 12-year-old civil engineering and survey firm with offices in Tucson and Phoenix. Cypress Civil’s 26-person staff will transition to RICK’s Phoenix and Tucson offices.
Promotions
5. Laura Toporowski has been promoted to Department Manager for the Regional Construction Group at Burns & McDonnell in Phoenix. She and her team will focus on driving growth and leading successful program management projects across the Southwest.
6. Sean Salveson has been promoted to VP of Operations for Construction at K2 Electric.

8. The Opus Group has hired Jay Ramos as Senior Director, Real Estate Development. In his new role, Ramos will be responsible for advancing development opportunities in the markets served by Opus’ Phoenix office.
9. Danny Murphy has joined W.E. O’Neil Construction as Project Superintendent.
10. Three new staff members have recently joined Spectra Electrical Services, Inc. Sara Miller was hired as an Assistant Project Manager. Skye Graham was brought on as a Procurement Manager, and Christian Nickel joined as a Site Manager.
