1. The AZ Water Association has chosen the North Avondale Water Supply Project executed by Carollo Engineers Inc. as its Project of the Year.
Groundbreakings
2. The City of Surprise has begun work on the Countryside Park youth sports facility. At completion, the project will include eight multiuse sports fields and amenities.
3. The Bell Group’s Storage at McDowell, a 90.7KSF four-level storage facility next to Papago Plaza, has begun construction.
Progress Reports
4. Mattel Inc and Epic Resort Destinations LLC have announced the Mattel Adventure Park at VAI Resort in Glendale will feature attractions related to Barbie, Masters of Universe and Mattel Games when the park opens in Q1 2023.
Completions
5. With renovations to a former Golds Gym location on Ray Road in Chandler now complete, the 15-court Pickleball Kingdom has opened for business.
6. IDA on McKinley, Local Studio’s 18-unit residential development on McKinley and 3rd streets in Phoenix, and the tallest repurposed shipping container project in North America, has opened to residents.
7. Desert Sunrise High School in Maricopa recently marked the completion of construction with a soft opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
8. Renovations have wrapped up at the City Square high rise office park on Central Avenue in Midtown Phoenix.
9. Harkins Theatres has unveiled the results of its extensive amenities and technology upgrades at its Harkins Tempe Marketplace location in time for the summer blockbuster season.
10. Northwest Medical Center Houghton, a 52-bed, 180KSF hospital in Tucson, has finished construction and is scheduled to open this week.
11. After a 10-month closure, the intersection of 6th Avenue and 7th Street in Tucson has reopened, as has the 6th Avenue underpass. The entirety of the Downtown Links project to improve travel and reduce congestion is expected to wrap up next year.
12. W.E. O’Neil Construction announced it is about to complete construction of the new Rudy’s “Country Store” & Bar-B-Q in Tucson designed by Lingle Design Group. The new location is set to open on June 21st.
