A joint venture between Okland Capital LLC and Larry H. Miller Real Estate (LHM JVR MSA LLC) is proposing a 416-unit apartment development with a six-level parking garage near Rio Salado Parkway and Dobson Road in Mesa.

Located near the Chicago Cubs’ spring training stadium, The Residences at Dobson Road and Cubs Way will be a four-story development reaching a height of 61 feet, according to a presentation by project representative Pew & Lake PLC to the Mesa Design Review Board.

DRB discussed the proposal’s landscaping and aesthetics in its May 9 meeting.

The developers have requested a rezoning of the seven-acre site from General Commercial with a Planned Area Development Overlay to Residential Multiple-Dwelling District with a bonus intensity zone overlay.

The design by Todd & Associates Architecture features two four-story residential buildings and a six-level parking garage that wraps around the northern building. Also included are two-level townhomes with Dobson Road frontage, multiple amenity spaces and two pedestrian bridges to link the north and south buildings. (Source)
