    1. Adopt a Highway volunteers collected more than 1.8 tons of litter during the Arizona Department of Transportation’s eighth Annual National CleanUp Day. A hundred participants filled 270 bags across 17 communities statewide, including Phoenix, Tucson, Prescott and Scottsdale.

    2. The PENTA CARES Foundation, the charitable arm of The PENTA Building Group, raised $65K for local nonprofit Home Base Arizona at its annual Arizona Charity Golf Classic. Sponsors of the event included:

    3. Jana Brickey of DFDG Architecture hosted the Tee It Up to Cure Leukemia event in support of Blood Cancer United’s Light the Night. Despite storms canceling play, the event raised more than $20K for blood cancer research.

    4. ENR Mountain States & Southwest named several industry leaders to its 2026 Top Young Professionals list. Honorees from Arizona consist of:

    • Carlie Cook, site manager at Rosendin in Tempe;
    • Ryan Hankins, project executive at Clayco in Phoenix;
    • Will McCord, electrical department manager at Burns & McDonnell in Phoenix;
    • Sunny Natekar, water and wastewater treatment technologist at Garver in Tempe;
    • Dhruv Patel, president of the Renewable Energy Group at McCarthy Building Cos. in Phoenix;
    • Sandy Thoms, VP of traffic engineering at WSP USA in Tempe, and
    • Gayatri Umashankar, South West Region-based manager at Digital Building Components in Phoenix.

    5. Primak Construction Group received the NEWCON Captive Safety Award for excellence in workplace safety and culture. The Phoenix-based contractor earned the recognition with an EMR of 0.54, placing it in the top 5% of the industry. This is the firm’s third award in six years.

    6. Kathy Morgan was honored with the AIGA Fellow Award at PHXDW 2025. Morgan has been a board member for 14 years. Additionally, she is the co-founder and creative director of Morgan and Company.

    7. Creation has been named one of Arizona’s Most Admired Companies of 2025 by AZ Big Media.

    8. LGE Design Build has been named one of Arizona’s Most Admired Companies of 2025 by AZ Big Media.

    Company News

    9. Unified Commercial Property Management acquired Greater Airpark Realty Services, Main Street Real Estate Advisors and Menlo Group’s property management division. The acquisitions expand Unified’s portfolio to nearly 7.5MSF of retail, office and industrial properties across metro Phoenix.

    10. StrataTech Education Group launched a national podcast, Skilled Nation, highlighting stories from the trades, including welding, electrical, HVAC and industrial maintenance. The biweekly podcast premiered Sept. 19 with three episodes in honor of National Tradesperson Day.

    Promotions

    11. Cade Rowley has been promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer of Sundt Construction. Rowley, who joined the company in 1998 as a field engineer, most recently served as President and COO. He succeeds Mike Hoover, who has transitioned to Executive Chairman.

    New Hires

    12. Jennings Haug Keleher McLeod Waterfall LLP announced that attorneys Andy Chambers and C. Clark Hodgson, III have joined the Phoenix office of JKW. Chambers will provide legal counsel to individuals and business executives across commercial real estate, construction and development, surety and fidelity, financial services, insurance, professional services and non-profit organizations. Hodgson will assist businesses and individuals with construction-related matters, complex litigation, surety and fidelity bond claims, and professional liability claims.
