Giving Back

1. More than 200 people from Arizona’s commercial real estate, construction, property management and facilities industries attended the sold-out “Bowling for Bailey” fundraiser at Lucky Strike in Scottsdale to support Ryan Bailey, who is battling stage 4 colon cancer with liver metastasis. The event was organized by a committee including Abby Vallelonga of EHS Restoration, Brianna Parette of EVO Construction Group, Mai Vu of Elevate Commercial Real Estate, Michael Scott of Weems Asphalt, Sarah Temple of Upland Group, Ginger Morton of Ghaster Painting, Tiffany Pennington of Encore Landscape Management and Tom Pritscher of TEPCON Construction.
2. Mark-Taylor Residential celebrated a record-breaking National Volunteer Month through iNSPIRE, the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility program. Team members came together across Arizona and Nevada. More than 450 volunteering hours were used in April. Mark-Taylor participated in 20 organized volunteer events.

3. Berkshire Hathaway will buy Taylor Morrison Corporation for $8.5B, or $72.50/share, in an all-cash transaction. Taylor Morrison has more than 350 communities across the United States in 21 total markets. The company will be taken private under the terms of the agreement, and its current leadership team will remain in place. Pending the required governmental and shareholder approvals, the deal is expected to close in the second half of the year.
4. CoStar Group, Inc. recently entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Zonda for $800M. Zonda provides new home construction data, homebuilder software and residential real estate marketplaces in North America.
5. RED Development has fully leased the 30KSF+ office building at Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix, signing VanTrust and Phoenix Design One. VanTrust, a national, family-held real estate development company, leased the second floor and relocated from its existing Phoenix office. PDO, a full-service interior architecture firm specializing in corporate office interiors, also signed a lease on the second floor following its merger with parent company RDC.

6. Deana Freet was promoted to Director of Property Management at Arizona Commercial Real Estate. In her new role, Freet will oversee the continued growth and operations of the company’s property management division while strengthening client relations, operational systems and service execution. ACRE said the promotion supports the company’s expanding commercial real estate and property management operations throughout Arizona.

7. Clune Construction has promoted Adam Wojack and Jeremy Stanek. Wojack was named Managing Director, President, Phoenix. He has more than 20 years of construction experience and has overseen millions of square feet of projects, including high-end build-outs and mission-critical campuses. Stanek was promoted to Managing Director, Phoenix Operations. He brings more than 20 years of industry experience and has led projects across multiple sectors, including large-scale data centers and high-end tenant improvement and hospitality build-outs.
New Hires
8. Arizona Commercial Real Estate hired Steffen Lewis and Doug Taber. Lewis was brought in to expand ACRE’s property management accounting division to focus on operational efficiency, financial oversight and client support as its portfolio continues to grow. Taber brings years of multifamily real estate experience and market knowledge, with a background in multifamily assets and investment strategy.
