Valutek is planning to construct a 45KSF headquarters between 12th and 14th streets near Sky Harbor International Airport.
While most of the headquarters will be a warehouse, it will also include 5KSF of office and 5KSF of clean room manufacturing space. Valutek is a supplier of gloves, boot covers and similar products for use in laboratories.
The headquarters is planned on 16 parcels currently owned by the City of Phoenix. Currently, the parcels are within a noise mitigation corridor, and the City is attempting to sell parcels to redevelop the area.
The Phoenix City Council approved selling the site to Valutek for nearly $1.7M during its Sept. 17 meeting.
Valutek is also interested in a second phase, which would require the company to acquire privately-owned land near the site. Currently, the company operates out of a downtown facility at 9th and Jackson streets and is looking to expand.
As of now, the project is in the midst of the rezoning and site plan application process. Company representatives believe this phase will last an additional six-to-12 months. Construction is expected to occur roughly a year after, with completion targeted for 2027. (Source)
