    Giving Back

    1. The PENTA Building Group recently held its 18th annual Safety Kick-Off. The tour held three events in Scottsdale, Henderson, Nev. and Anaheim, Calif. The expo featured dozens of vendors, while PENTA led presentations focused on reinforcing safety awareness in the industry.

    2. Stevens-Leinweber Construction’sSuperintendent Logan Durfee completed his 11th annual holiday gift drive for Garden House and launched The Durfee Fostering Transitions Fund, a collaboration with Mark Leinweber supporting Arizona youth as they age out of the foster care system.

    Awards & Accolades

    3. Erik Powell represented Stevens-Leinweber Construction as one of AZRE Magazine’s“AZ Big 100” honorees. SLC stated the award was, “A well-deserved acknowledgement for an exceptionally hard-working SLC leader.”

    4. Sergio Carrasco of Holly Street Studio was recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal in the Annual 40 Under 40 Awards. Carrasco worked on a variety of projects such as the ASU Mix Center.

    Boards & Commissions

    5. The Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board has elected and announced its officers and Executive Committee. The officers are:

    • Terry Goddard – President;
    • Alexandra Arboleda – VP, and
    • Karen Cesare – Secretary.

    The Executive Committee is comprised of President, VP, Secretary and Lisa Atkins (Immediate Past President), Ylenia Aguilar and Barbara Seago.

    Company News

    6. TEPCON Construction announced its transition to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Employees have been recognized as co-owners since Jan. 1.

    7. Jennifer Reynolds became the sole owner and CEO of Ideation Design Group after Carl Schaffer retired. As the sole owner, Reynolds will now look after the administrative/financial leadership of the company.

    8. Holly Street Studio, LLC is celebrating its 25th year. The company was originally founded by Diane Jacobs and Michael Jacobs in the summer of 1999. The company marked the occasion by taking a trip to Mexico City in November.

    9. Land Advisors Technologies recently unveiled Revalo, a property data and intelligence platform that compiles comprehensive and accurate property data from numerous sources used by Land Advisors Organization. The platform provides visual insights for exploring multiple layers of spatial data while simplifying the complex process of researching and gathering property information. Revalo is available in the app store.

    10. Ivanhoe Electric is raising funds for its Santa Cruz Copper Project. The effort plans to raise $60M from a public offering of units priced at $5.85/unit. Nearly 10.3 million units will be issued.

    Promotions

    11. CapRock Partners announced the promotion of Bob O’Neill to Executive VP. O’Neill has led the acquisition and development of more than 7MSF of industrial space across Phoenix, San Diego and the Pacific Northwest since 2016.

    12. Dibble announced promotions for Paulson Chaco, Jeff McBride and Josh Papworth. Chaco was promoted to Senior Project Manager. He previously served as the Director of the Navajo Department of Transportation and COO of the Navajo Housing Authority. McBride will now serve as Dibble’s Land Development Business Unit Leader. He will be in charge of operations, planning and team development. Papworth was promoted to Principal Engineer. He has more than 28 years of experience in civil engineering.

    13. Prologis promoted Alicia Saxby to Senior Leasing Manager. Saxby has 17 years of experience and manages a 17.2MSF portfolio in Phoenix.

    New Hires

    14. Cushman & Wakefield announced the appointment of Robert Thornburgh as Regional President of the Southwest Region. In his new role, Thornburgh will oversee C&W’s strategic growth of the Southwest, including client service delivery, talent development and recruiting.

    15. Jill Brooks has been hired as The Mahoney Group’s new Commercial Lines Service Director. In her new role, Brooks will oversee the commercial lines service team.

    16. Modern Business Development announced the hiring of Maggie Lopez as its Tucson Director of Business Development. In her new role, Lopez will represent commercial subcontractors and service providers to increase their sales and industry presence.

    17. Brian Bea has been hired by Clayco as a Project Director. Bea has more than 25 years of experience in the industry. In his new role, he will oversee strategic planning, team leadership and client relationships.

    18. Arrington Watkins Architecture hired Dan Sandall as its National Business Development Leader. With more than 30 years of experience, Sandall has become a nationally recognized leader in the Justice/Civic sector.

    19. Broadbent & Associates, Inc. announced the hiring of Edwin Vandegrift and Courtney Mooney. Vandegrift will serve as Principal Geologist. He has more than 30 years of experience in environmental consulting and geology. Mooney will serve as Senior Architectural Historian and will be responsible for managing historic preservation projects.

    20. Gabby Weiss has been hired by GLHN Architects & Engineers, Inc. as its new Administrative Operations Manager & Business Development Lead. Weiss has more than 20 years of experience working alongside developers, contractors and the design community.

    21. Olsson hired Sudheera Addepally as a Client Manager. Addepally previously worked for a national water utility and has a background in utilities and consulting. She has 20 years of experience in the water industry.
